License Torque3D

Hey all,

As for a few weeks we've been working hard in getting the documentation for our game and planning costs and etc. etc. etc. you know the drill.

But we've come across something rather disturbing.
It's concerning the pro version of Torque3D and the Studio one, the question would be concerning the maximum revenue without torque3D Studio, which would be about: $250k p/y.

Now, that sounds logical at first, the price and the fact it's revenue, but what doesn't make sense is that Torque is deciding what your maximum income will be.

Are we misreading the point or is this something that has a 'point' of being there?
In other words: If we would release our game, and it would turn out to bring in about $400k, where does the lonely $150k wonder off to?

I'm sure someone has a fine explenation to all of this (I hope).

Regards, John

It means that you need to upgrade your license to studio if you make over that amount. It is scalable so that your company can upgrade if wildly successful; but still affordable to everyone else in the under-$250,000 market.

So just to clarify, if we make let's assume $300,000, we would be required to upgrade to studio immediately afterwards, and not before?

And what happens if we earn more then the 250k limit, what actually happens to that money if we wouldn't purchase studio?

Yes, you need to purchase studio at that point.

You would be in violation of your licensing agreement and not be able to legally sell the product.

Alright! Thanks for the information and quick reply! ;)
