Torque 3D fails on execution via Remote Desktop

Hello,
i have an interesting issue here. Torque 3D fails on execution via Remote Desktop and the error is the 'failed to initialize Direct3D.' However, if i fire up T3D directly from that same machine(i.e. at the physical machine itself, not via remote desktop) it's just fine.
Now Maya and 3DSMax will both fire op via RD but unless I set the acceleration to OpenGL the performance is awful. T3D is an OpenGL application is it not? Why is it even looking for DirectX anything? Any help or ideas about this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oops. Sorry 'bout that, I didn't see the other forum. Thanks for responding to my question, that pretty much answers it for me. I am guessing there is no way to force an OpenGL situation on T3D?

@David - Nope, nor would you want to. Direct X runs much faster on Windows than OpenGL does.

You see, I'm the administrator for a 3D Animation Lab at a university and we have identified Remote Access to High Performance Computing and Applications as a high priority. To that end we are using Microsoft's Remote Desktop (brokerage by Leostream) to allow students to access major 3D modeling/gaming packages via remote. The problem is that T3D just says "phooey" when you try and start it up via remote desktop.
Do you know offhand of a way around the fact that D3D hates Remote Desktop?

I know. I'm not a huge fan of OGL but in this case it seems to be the only option - not that T3D will suddenly support OGL because of this. You see, I'm the administrator for a 3D Animation Lab at a university and we have identified Remote Access to High Performance Computing and Applications as a high priority. XP won't work. What version of Windows are you running (on the server/machine you are connecting to)? You may need to upgrade...

Vista and Windows 7 should support software rendering of D3D10 on the remote desktop. It'll be super slow but should work.XP won't work. What version of Windows are you running (on the server/machine you are connecting to)? You may need to upgrade...

If you are talking about our recent Torque 3D release, it only runs OpenGL on Mac OS X. When running on Windows, it uses Direct X.
