The whole movie kicks ass. There are some scenes you can tell the CG is messed up some, but overall its great.

Watch for the 10.2.2.2 joke.

The ending made you think that all of it is in multiple matrices, both their real world and their matrix. What Neo does to stop the sentinels
brings that to mind.

Besides the fact that Smith copied himself into the "real" world which seems to me as him copying himself across the matrix network into Neo's "real" world matrix.

The Zion orgy dance sequence/Trinity & Neo love scene kinda was out of place, but I liked it.

One of the funniest scenes is what the guy keeping the Keymaker shows to Neo, Trinity & Morpheous that he does to this girl, by having a piece of cake given to her. Watch what happens to her, after she eats some of it. Digital big Os ....

Watch the 1st Matrix again, as I'm sure some of you did when you got home. You'll notice some of the things they say now have even deeper meaning into Reloaded & whatever Revolutions holds for us.

The Matrix trilogy has more story cohesiveness & consistentcy then I've ever seen in a set of movies.

Some of the scenes just make you go WOW! HOLY SHIT! OUCH! OHHH! DAMN!!! just as the packed theatre did at out non-public free preview showing did.

You'll need to watch it at least 4-5 times, just to enjoy everything going on in all the scenes.

The boxed set of all 3 movies will be the best set of movies to own, ever. I dare say it, it'll be worth owning more then all 6 Star Wars movies as a boxed set on DVD.

"The Boys" have done a great job on Reloaded, can't wait to watch Revolutions...

and Reloaded 4 or 5 more times

Saw the sneak preview. At first, things weren't moving very smoothly. I was so worried that it was gonna fall victim to the classic sequel problem and just dwell on what made the first one cool, but this movie totally picked up and the plot leaves you drooling for more.

-Missed the 10.2.2.2 joke

-I heard someone else suggest the multi-matrix theory. Very interesting and intriguing... But why would death in the "real world" result in death in the matrix if the "real world" was another matrix. The argument is that the body cannot live without the mind...but in this movie, people died as a result of their "real world" deaths without even being aware of it, therefore their "mind" would not have died. I think that Neo's ability to take out the sentinels definitely has something to do with his "connection" to agent smith and agent smith's entrance into the real world, but I'm still pondering it. Maybe after a few more views, I can come up with something.

-Nah, the love scene was pretty sweet. Gotta have the token sex scene, and what better time than when all of zion is grinding on eachother to some sweet music?

-I didn't get what happened to that chic with the pie. An explosion between her legs...hmmmmmm

-Awesome chase scene on I-101! They really like to use 101 don't they? That chase scene was the shiznit though! Trinity going the opposite direction of traffic at huge speeds on a motorcycle. In-effin-tense!!!

I definitely feel like this is gonna be an awesome trilogy. Like I said i was a bit worried after this one started, but once the plot started settling in, this movie definitely showed that it was a vital part of the story. Why is November being so stupid? It is so far away....

The freeway they used for the chase scene was a mile long custom built freeway in Alameda, CA. It wasn't really the 101

Love scenes are fine, but Keanu Reeves isn't the actor for it. You can't have an intimate scene with a guy who has a real hard time acting emotions.

The bike scene was very intense, some of the cinematography there was very innovative.

I felt the movie started slow.. i was getting worried, but it finished strong. All in all.. a worthy seequal

Two theories on the world of the Matrix.

First: There is no real world or atleast not one we have seen. The "Real World" Matrix is goverened by it's own set of rules which is why people who die in the Matrix die in the "real world". This is also how smith was able to download him self, because he no long sees the need to follow the rules as he said, so he sees no difference between the two worlds. So why are the Machines doing all of this? The think it is just a big game for the architect.

Second: There is a real world and, but if you remember the scene where Smith says to Neo that they are now somehow connected. This is my theory as to why Neo can stop the sentinels in the real world. He still has a part of his cognitive self connected through smith and thus can control stop the sentinels, beacause they are just part of the same network he can control. Smith is able to download him self, for the same reason humans can upload there minds, we are simply a bunch of electrical signals being passed back and forth, thus re-programmable.

As for the first half of the movie I don't see what everyone is complaining about, hello real world plot development requires to be setup, including the fact that they are very religious about the Matrix and what is to come, but that not everyone agrees with it.

i'm not going to state any theories because all we need to do is wait for november to understand it ;)

I loved the fact that Trinity just KNOWS the root password on the power grid and then uses SSH to shut it down... very amusing.

fight scenes rocked.

other than the out of place sex scene it was very good ;)

Ahh, I like the 101 - that's one of those things that has more meaning now after Reloaded. 101 was the number of Neo's apartment in the first movie - I think it appeared a couple more times at least. In this movie it appears in the lobby of the restaurant that they meet the Frenchman in, also the freeway was I-101? Heh.

What's the new meaning of 101? Well 101 is 5 in binary. But if you include 0 as a number as in 0-5, that's really representing 6 numbers. Where is 6 significant? It's the 6th iteration of the Matrix as the Architect describes it.

Anyone else see anything like that? I'm sure there's lots of little things. Anyone see any significance to the Oracle handing out the "red pill" candy? Is he going down the "rabbit hole" again and thus explains the intermingling of the real and matrix worlds? Or is it more like what Ernest is saying where Agent Smith's invasion of the "real world" is Neo's conduit for taking out those sentinals? I think the latter is more likely.

Or simpler without adding any extra extra information... it could simply be the ASCII code for ENQ which was defined as:

Enquiry.ASCII character 5 (control E).
"A request for a response, sent from one communications station to another; an enquiry as to whether someone at the receiving terminal is available to communicate."

It was alright. Nothing great, but still good. Action was well done, but I thought the plot was nothing special.

I saw the first showing in my area yesterday. I loved it, not quite as much as I loved the first, but it was still frigin awesome!

Who saw the pictures of Rumsfeld and Bush flashed across the screen when the Architect was talking about the people who would always be a scourge on humanity? You had to look pretty closely, they were only there for an instant, but they were there. I thought that was hilarious.

For fans of the Dune series of books: I have to wonder if they borrowed the idea for the orgy scene from Herbert's description of the spice orgy. That scene was almost exactly how I had imagined the spice orgy when I read any descriptions of it in the Dune books.

I'm all about the plot. It's very deep and I like the theories posted above. Good stuff! I think the connection to agent Smith is what allowed Neo to control the sentinels. Either that or the architect knowing that .1% of the population would regect the initial program created a Matrix for the "rebels" to keep them occupied. In the end it would seem the machines have us completely figured and so there is no hope. Well, except that in this movie hope/love are tied together. So perhaps love will prevail as it always does with Trinity/Neo. It seems cheesy but the action scenes make up for it :)

I saw it last night and loved it. I have minor gripes (the cake/girl example was unecessary and tasteless I thought, and the Zion dancing/sex seen was about 2x longer than it should have been) but other than that, I loved it.

It was defenitely cooler than the first, if only for the awesome fight scenes. That pole in the playground... when he was swinging it around and time stopped and the camera panned around him, that was about the coolest thing ever. I love stylized, 'high-concept' violence. :)

I thought about the dual matrix theory, but I KNOW that they'll just mind- us with just about an infinite number of matrices if they ever introduce a second. I can just see the end of the last one being Neo progressing through layer upon layer of matrix, and them making some point about how you can never know if you are truly in the real world.

In other words, I really hope the Agent Smith theory is correct.

*sigh*

What a great movie. :)

Yeah, that's true. The idea of a Matrix is a psuedo answer to reality.

Here's my Matrix question...

How do people in the Matrix have babies?

Are they actually in the real world for a while to make love, have a kid and then forget about it?

Something has to happen in the real world to make a new person and hook them up to the Matrix, right?

Are all kids programs?

That is the only reason I have to deny the existance of the Matrix.

Umm... I'm pretty sure that babies were covered in the first Matrix movie, during the whole explanation given to Neo about the Robots and humans being big batteries.

The multiple matrix thing would just make this whole trilogy a rehash of the movie "13th Floor". I really hope they do something different -- I'd rather they go with the idea that Neo has some control over the machines in the real world due to his interaction with Smith.

I think the Matrix trilogy was all written before the Thirteenth Floor was released... so its definately possible that it could turn out with the multiple matrix thing. That would be a sucky coincidence...

Anyone remember that part towards the beginning, where two humans were exiting the matrix. After the first human exited, Agent Smith showed up and turned the remaining human into an Agent Smith. Then the new smith exited. Then.. later in the movie, some guy was sneaking up on neo and friends with a knife. Same guy was also shown in the last scene of the movie with some evil music(he was the only survivor of the attack on zion)....

Question is... was the guy with the knife and the only survivor of the attack the person that Agent Smith turned into an Agent Smith, then exited? I can't remember...

Arrrgh. I shouldn't have read this.

My wife just bought tickets for the show tonight.

yeah Jason, same guy ;)
he reminds me of the older sniper-guy in Enemy at the Gates... not sure if it's the same actor though

I had expected there to be a bigger focus on the 'viruses' (the all-white french programs) but I like that they weren't the focus.

persephone got on my nerves... but I loved Trinity's response to the whole kiss thing =)

did anyone hang around for the Revolutions trailer after the credits?

Hmmm, I fell asleep. Actually *almost* nodded off in the fight scene with the chinese guy, then actually did fall asleep in the Architect scene. My wife woke me up with a sharp elbow.
