What do I need to get started?

I'm sorry to post this in a tech forum; I sent a note to sales yesterday and haven't heard back, so I'm turning to the community because I need to move quick on this project.
Can someone help me sort out what exactly to buy for iPhone development?
I see the iPhone 2D engine (iT2D) at $750. The product page says it packages games from TGB ($250) for iPhone, but it also says it contains the complete features of TGB. Am I correct in thinking I don't need to buy TGB separately?
Next, for 3D, iT3D has a pre-order page, priced at $650. Is it an add-on to iT2D that requires having purchased iT2D, or is it an add-on to T3D that requires purchase of T3D, or is it a totally standlone product that doesn't require or benefit from iT2D or T3D?
Finally, there are the add-on packs for TGB and T3D -- will those work on iT2D and iT3D, respectively.
I'm sure this is one of those things that's obvious once you know the platform, but it's not obvious (to me) from the product pages. Can someone help enlighten me?
Thanks!

The technical bits: T2Di is an add-on to TGB, which is soon going to be named T2D (again!). The iPhone 3D engine is actually based on the two generations old TGE. It's getting T3D goodies, I'm sure :)
You get TGB with the iPhone engine, and you get TGE with the 3D engine.
On the 3D side, the differences between engines mean you have to check each add-on for compatibility. If your engine isn't explicitly mentioned for anything but models, ask in the relevant forums.
T2Di is closer to TGB in many ways, and graphics are pretty simple to adapt. Kits with code are at least possible to port if you have the skills, but I'd still wait for explicit support.
