Torque 3D price

Hi guys, first sorry me for my bad english i`am new to it.

I have several question concerning new Torque3D but one i want to ask first,
How it begun:
literally year ago i started my game development jorney with book called 3D Game Development All in One by Kenneth G. Finney (in russian translation), this was my first book about game development and it gave me big hope, with that book i first discovered Torque (TGE at that time)and it led me here to garagegames site where i found lots of information and tutorials that helped me understanding TGE (and learning english).Year ago i found that TGE is exactly what i need because game development is complex topic and all this C++/Direct X stuff is too hard for me. I was realy happy because i found some thing called GAME ENGINE with developers support, dynamicly upgrading and only for 100 USD. And then i started collecting money for it, but as time passed i discovered that TGE rises in price, first 150,then 250 and now 1000.

NO i`am not saying that Torque doesnt deserve this price, but personally for me this is very expensive and i cant have it. So please tell me will there be any cheaper versions Torque 3D like that Basic version for 250$, because if no then i will have to pass to another engine........
Surely this is very bad news for me because it means that all this time passed learnind Torque is just wasted for nothig.

Beforehand thanks for reply.

Well, you can still use TGE/TGEA. Lots of us are doing that. If the engine works for you, then use it - you're not pressured to update and have the latest and greatest.

@Daniel - Remember, GG took off the buying page for TGE/TGEA.

@OMN - I would suggest contacting them and asking to buy a TGE license. If not, then here are a few good engines:

Unity (Suggested if you can afford it)
Source (Suggested if you can't afford Unity)
Game Maker (Suggested if you don't know how to program)

@OMN - A lower price entry version of Torque 3D is being released. While the options Tyler listed are decent alternatives, you seem to be leaning toward Torque. In this case, hold tight for another week or so. Torque 3D is still the best option and you will find our incoming news very appealing.

I don't really know where Tyler is coming from with his suggestions (i.e. if you can't afford Unity Pro or T3D, you certainly can't afford the Source engine which will cost big bucks to license).

Definitely look at the newly free Unity engine. It may be everything you need. Learning curve is much better than Torque.

unreal engine 3 (indie) is free now to... but i still thinking that torque is great if you need source code access because you can make anything that you imagine...
