Hello all. A little about me:

I'm a 16 year old Highschool student in his Junior year. I go to a tech High school which mainly boiles down to me taking an IT Academy class, this class is more focused on hardware than anything but they are helping me get IC3 Cert and A+ Cert.

Apart from that I've always liked video games, and I always liked creating something people liked, be it Music, a game type, or a map. I've played with Garage band for making music and I used to use Forge from Halo and Farcry map editor and even Starcraft and Warcraft editors to try and make something enjoyable and cool.

I took a trip to DeVry not too long ago (was very pleased with it too) and Torque Game Engine was demonstrated to the class and I was interested. So I went home and Downloaded TGB, TGE, Barricade Demo, Forge Demo and Torque 3D (Which I am liking the most since my computer can really keep up.

So I'ev been messing with it not even for a day, but I've been frustrated that I'm having a hard time teaching myself how to use this. My main problem is that I have a hard time making an idea that is actually something I can create (Something not hugely out of my league). One of the things I did when I got in was picked one of the demo areas and just went nuts in it, changing the values of everything to see what it did, but a ton of the things ended up crashing the program, even when I ran out of ammo in my gun and clicked fire again it crashed.

I'm trying to bring myself to read more of the documentation but it's daunting and feels like a different language to me, I know there isn't much you can do to help someone new out, and the patience of some towards my ineptness is understandable. But if you are able to contact me, by either Instant Messenger or even by Ventrilo or here to give me some basic tips or run me through something, I'd be happy to provide screenshots in return to show you my progress.

My first decent attempt, saved it before I started playing Starcraft, going to get back to it now.

Skybox, Rain, Sun that Rose and set, trees, rocks, lightning storm and event a few spotlights for when it got dark. Looking for tips on getting clouds, because I can't seem to get that down, that and making good mountains.

And also how do I get that building to handle collision so I can actually get into it with my player without dropping my player from camera.

I hit the 32 item limit so even though I'd love to add a ton of foliage and rocks I can't :(
