Torque trial expired? I never used it before.

Hello,
I have been interested in trying out Torque 2D, but all I have had was problems.
First of all I tried installing Torque 2D in a Windows 7 virtual machine on my Ubuntu 9.04 Linux box, but it was really slow and crashed a bunch so I uninstalled it. I then tried it in a Windows Vista virtual machine thinking it might have not liked Window 7 but it still was really slow and crashed.
Finally I decided that I must be the Virtual machine it didn't like, so I installed Windows 7 fresh on a new hard drive, and downloaded the trial version of Torque 2D. For some reason it says I have 0 days left on my trial, but I just downloaded and installed it today. I never got to use it once.
Can anyone help?
