T3D terrains in TX... I can dream

I downloaded the T3D Unearthly Challenge demo since it looks so cool and much easier to use than the TGE terrain editor. I spent some time making a little level and then tried to load it up in TX 3D.
Come on, Come on.... Aaahhh, crash. :(
TX 3D can't load a 'version 7' terrain, just 'version 4'. Does anyone know how different are the 2 versions?
I only have TX 2D Pro, and TX 3D creators club version.
Can someone with TX 3D pro version edit the terrain loading code to allow version 7 and load up a simple T3D terrain to see if it works without any other changes?

I know that in my project that I made there are several files that make up the terrain.
For the default desert terrain I see the following files:
Desert01.png, lightmap.png, SandDetails01.png and terrain.ter. The only one I am 100% sure of coming out of L3DT would be the lightmap because they have the same name. How do I produce the other files, especially the .ter file.

Can someone tell me how to get a L3DT terrain into TX 3D? I just bought it hoping it would be easy, but can't figure it out.I know that in my project that I made there are several files that make up the terrain.

And to answer my own question, as John said, it's not trivial to get v7 terrain into TX 3D. I created a very simple flat terrain with 2 materials in T3D, then I edited the loading code in TX3D to allow v7 and it threw a bunch of errors.

To see how to get a L3DT terrain in to TX 3D read John's blog post at www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/17277. Particularly the section labeled Using Raw Terrain Data. And to answer my own question, as John said, it's not trivial to get v7 terrain into TX 3D. I posted on the L3DT site and another posting here on GG to see if someone can get me the later version. Hopefully that will keep me from having to do all this stuff.

I am using L3DT. This is a terrain creation program. If you get the latest version it is supposed to have an exporter that will create a T3D terrain file for you. The download on the GG site is from Feb, but the version I need is from later this year.I posted on the L3DT site and another posting here on GG to see if someone can get me the later version. I figure out how to do this with the 3D builder even. I will be posting a tutorial type post soon....
