what about new features?

Hi.

Say I buy Torque today. Then I do lots of work, script lots of things, make tons of levels and art. Everything is going great.

THEN I heard there is going to be Big, advanced improvements to the rendering engine of Torque, (and everything else, too) like realistic shadows, 6x full scene Anti-Aileasing, (forgive my spelling) and all the other cool goodies.

OK. Would all this be incorperated in a patch and be compatible with my work? I'm guessing that I would have to re-do my art and levels to implement new features, but what about my custom programing, scriping, and the like? Would it work with my old stuff, and excatly how much of an overhaul would be needed to fully integrate the new features? I really want to get torque and start working, but is it worth getting NOW or should I wait for the new stuff? OR am I just ranting and this is nothing to worry about? Please help. Thanks.

It would really depend on what specific changes you made and what specific changes GG made to Torque. There is really no way to say in a general sense. As far as if you should start now or wait: it's your own judgement call.

If you are talking about gameplay code, than there will be no problems integrating HEAD updates for the most part. CVS will take care of almost everything. However, if you are messing with the rendering, and the new HEAD has rendering updates, they may conflict.

Start now.

OK. Cool. Thanks. I'm most likely only going into gameplay. SO I will just start! Thanks.
