I'm trying to pitch my game idea...

I'm trying to find a way to pitch my game idea. As far as I know, my idea is completely unique, no one has ever thought of anything like this before. The only thing is that it would take quite a while to get the programing just the way I want it. I wouldn't let this idea go any other way. This idea has been stirring in my head for years now and I just want to convey it perfectly when I'm finally able to get it developed.
I'm currently enrolled in a graphic design college and am very capable of creating the art to go with my idea. All I need is someone to fund and help me develope this game with the right software. I already have the blueprints mapped out in my head, I would really like to see this game made even if it means recieving a percentage of the profits made from it.
This might seem like a tall statement, but I swear that my idea would put COD4 to shame. Just like guitar hero gave gamers more respect for the technicalities of a guitarist, my game will give gamers more respect for the beauty and flow of martial arts.
My game will be a 1st person, platforming, shooter/ hand to hand/ weapons, action RPG, with upgrading abilities, and a 100% customizable arsonal of authentic martial arts techniques. The main focus of this game is the freedom of the player. I'm going to make it so that every standard animation can be edited to the players desire and they earn how good at doing something they can become.
Now that I think about it, seeing all these threads with people already making their own games I have a question for the people on this site. Would anyone here be interested in helping me develope this game? I just know that there is going to be a lot of money to be made with this idea.

I think the first person interface will be one of the things that really makes this game stand out. If you have ever played FEAR, did you notice how it's more of a wide screen view? You can see much more of your environment when your view takes up a good 70 or 80 degrees of a direction. Also the interface that I will apply to the view will make locating enemy players, split second reactions, or even knowing what direction a sound came from a very player reaction based experience.
Also, you know that pesky slow motion in multiplayer mode problem? I'v solved it and I know exactly how to incorperate it into multiplayer game play. Yeah, I'm pretty sure my idea is unique. No one thinks exactly like I do.
Also, I did have an idea for a 4D gaming experience... but thats a thread for another time.
By the way, would you happen to know the name of the game you where talking about? I would deffinatly like to check it out to see what they got oing for them.

I'v written out my idea in a word document. Really every time I get a creative idea that could apply to this game I add it in. I'm familiar with mirrors edge and thats one of the games that I got some inspiration from, I think the other one your talking about is Alone in the Dark, also a great game but not entirely first person.I think the first person interface will be one of the things that really makes this game stand out. Anyway, your ideas sound novel, but I think you'll find that the majority of users here are working on their own dream games, and won't necessarily want to make yours. Try browsing the 'jobs' forum to find people who've got time and skill to spare - or licence an engine and get cracking!

Bottom line: if it's not fun to play, it doesn't matter how comprehensive and cool it is.

See that big, slimy, green monster that's following you around, Gavin? That monster's name is Scope Creep. A lot of designers have Scope Creeps that grow and evolve over time, but it sounds like yours was born 10' tall and bullet proof. :o) Aim small, miss small. My wife and I just started down the indie path, and we're constantly trying to reign ourselves in to focus on deliverability. We all have one or more Coolest Games That Could Never Ship™ in the back of our minds... Some takeaways that we've picked up from others who've been successful in the way that we'd like to be is: Plan realistically. Ship a game. Rinse. Repeat. It'll get easier over time. Your first game will not be your magnum opus.Bottom line: if it's not fun to play, it doesn't matter how comprehensive and cool it is.

You have an interesting idea. I know how you feel; the sudden thoughts you have to jot down, the constant evolution of your idea, everything seems to be falling into place and there's the sight of a few million dollars dancing behind your eyes... Yeah, that's how I feel right now too. 3 months of working on the GDD, and much more time just dreaming about how awesome the game's going to be. However, like the guys said, you have to start small. I think it's good advice, and I plan to follow it. When the time comes and I've got a few computers, some software, and a few titles under my belt, then the big game is going to come out and all my dreams will be realized. Oh... what was I saying to you? Oh yeah, I like your idea and it sounds like it could be a hit. Make sure it's fun, comprehensive, and cool, so I can make my dream game and we can jump for joy together. And the other game that Edward may have been talking about could be Dark Sector. Maybe. Probably not.

So becareful about thinking that you have the most unique idea in the industry, you might be disappointed. On the other hand. It sounds like a interesting idea. Have you written out your Game Design Document and looked at which engine you will be using? I noticed you arent licensed with GG.
