License - Per programmer?

Hi,
I've seen a similar post in the older engines but cant find one regarding T3D. When the licensing is $1,000 per developer, do I need a license for each level designer(with access to torque script) and artist as well who use the world editor or just for the C++ programmer?

Based on the response in the release blog last week, we'll almost surely be doing an 'Artist' version of Torque 3D that includes everything the 'Professional' license includes except for the source code, so you'll be able to outfit your non-programmer team members with Torque 3D for $500 / seat.

I expect we'll do a release of the Artist version and make it available for purchase this month, November at the latest.

The upside to doing the Artist version (over what we had talked about for Basic is that discounts for previous products owned will apply. So if you own TGEA and want an Artist license to Torque 3D, it will only cost $500 - $295 = $205. That's less than Basic would have cost, since no discount would have applied. I expect we'll do a release of the Artist version and make it available for purchase this month, November at the latest.

Assuming I purchase a PRO license and modify the source for game specific functionality my level designer will not have access to the editor with the new functionality.
How would you handle such a situation because I see myself implementing a navigation system with specific needs for my game.

A scripter or artist with the Artist license would be able to use a custom binary from a Pro licensee if they were working on the same project.

Any pricing plans for a Professional owner to add artists to his team? I have T3D Pro for $1000, but would be curious to know what it will cost to add my 3 artists to my project.

Ken, the only way you can own more than one license and assign them to team members is through our Studio license. Going that route though, you could add each of the 3 artists for $500 / seat and manage these seats for other users in the future if you had to staff up or down.. Alternatively, you can give the artists the money to purchase the 'Artist' version of Torque 3D @ $500 / seat (available soon), but if they leave your project, they leave with that license.

Thanks Brett, I understand now. For now my artists have just been sending me max files and such for me to export to the engine myself, but it would make things a lot easier if they could just get everything torque ready and tested themselves. I would like for them to have the artist tools to lighten my load. I will definitely look into the Studio license!
