Best method to join river block to a water block

Okay, I have been working on a canyon map that has rivers and waterfalls that flow into a lake at the far end of the map.

Now the way I set this up was to use a water block as the lake. Then I used the river tool to create the rivers the way I wanted them. I used a river block turned on end to simulate the water falls with particle effects to do the mist and spray. so far that all is working well.

The issue I am having is where the river meets the water block for the lake.

No matter what I do there is a large seam showing that throws everything off. I have tried to over lap them but then the textures of the water block and river cause a black area to appear where they overlap.

how can we join a river block to a water block?

The best method at the moment is to hide the seam.

Add something artistic... rocks, brush, debris, a broken down old boat, etc.

This is a tried and true method that is used in almost every game out there.

All that said... in 1.1 maybe we can add a fade out to the ends of the rivers so that it goes transparent as it meets up. It still won't be perfect... but it would help in most cases.

I tend to missuse the river for the water too unless I have a large water area because normally you have river - lake - river so technicall thin river, massive river, thin river.
