I had no clue there were so many African GG'ers around.
This July i'll be back in Zim for a month; however I won't have an opportunity to visit SouthAfrica even though i'd really love to. (I will get to spend a couple days in Mozambique, though)
anyhow, just thought i'd babble a bit ;)

Any luck on the publisher yet?
Why dont you publish it with Garage Games?
SAGamedev is cool but I think its sortoff I dont know dont take me wrong messy. Messy in the sense off - I dont find things about South African GAME DEVELOPMENT.
http://www.gamedev.net/reference/ THis is what I would like to see on a site like that. It has things on it and Cool stuff about mobile gaming and about doom3 etc. The site has TONS of potensial to become the leading resourse for Indie Developers.
Just my 2cents.

I did contact gg but they didnt return to meso i gues their not interrested, thinking of using egameszone or going the self publishing road.www.sagamedev.co.za is ok (well, the forum is good)

Yeah www.sagamedev.co.za's forum is good yes, no argument there.

Hmmm. Mail them again. Maybe they didnt get it or they get so many e-mail that they are back-logged ;)Yeah www.sagamedev.co.za's forum is good yes, no argument there.

I think a better solution would be for gg to just reply with a "Not interrested" message, so that one know you dont have to waste time waiting on a possible reply. If you know there will be a mesage you would eitehr know to wait a little longer or if you get that "Not interrested" reply you know that you can try some other publishers. I would like to use gg if I could, but there are other like egameszone and even self publishing to look at.

Nah, I mailed them some time aggo, while the game was still in development. They didn't reply then and I emailed again to confirm that they did get the email. The reply I got was that they do not reply to emails if they are not interrested in the product, at least there also came a few pointers on what I needed to improve on the game :-) ...I think a better solution would be for gg to just reply with a "Not interrested" message, so that one know you dont have to waste time waiting on a possible reply. How's your guy's projects going?
Did you get your game published?
We went through some tuff times and got sidetracked HECTICALLY.We have narrowed our scope a bit in the meantime and thought to start taking things step by step. We went for a bit of a big project last time ( YES, YES, I know thats the FIRST COMANDMENT WE BROKE!! ;) ) at least we learnt a lesson.
But we are back and looks like we got someone interested in something we demo'd for them.
Exciting & Worrying cause we have to learn a LOT but now is as good a time as any.
Exciting times now.
Downloaded TGE1.4 yesterday. We last worked with TGE 1.2
I for one cant wait for the Torque Constructor, I desperatly need a better ART pipeline.
Struggling a bit with Quark.
So where is all these SA Game Developers???
