Hello, My school had me writing up QA bug reports for an assignment, so I decided to use torque3d as my target. Sorry if they have been covered before, I just assumed better to post it here just incase I noticed something others missed ;)
The Spine is either Presentation (PR) or screens/menus (SPO)
Here is what little I got:
Torque3D Beta 5
Bug 1:
Severity: C-Sharp ;)
Spine: SPO
User path: Probable
Repro: 100%
SPO – Menus/Options – Resolution in world editors game options defaults to 640X480 instead of current resolution.
Steps:
1.Open the world editor with any level
2.Under the edit menu click “Game Options”
3.Observe the resolution setting under the graphics tab. Regardless of set resolution it says 640X480
Bug 2:
Severity: B-flat
Spine: SPO
User path: Probable
Repro: 100%
SPO – Menu/Options – Game options in world editor let you set fullscreen when it should not be allowed.
Steps:
1.Open the world editor with any level
2.Under edit, goto game options
3.Under the Graphics tab check off full screen and press apply button
4.Mouse Cursor will now be ~40 pixels below where you actually click.
Fullscreen was not supposed to be allowed in world editor.
Bug 3:
Severity: D-Alto!
Spine: SPO
User Path: Possible
Repro: 100%
*This gets a D because if Bug 2 gets fixed this shouldn't be an issue!
SPO – Menus/Options – 800X600 fullscreen in world editor causes interesting vista startmenu bar glitch at bottom of screen
Steps:
1.Open the world editor with any level
2.Under edit, goto game options
3.Under the Graphics tab check off full screen, switch resolution to 800X600 and press apply button
4.Mouse Cursor will now be ~40 pixels below where you actually click and bottom of screen will have a flickering part of the windows start bar showing.
Bug 4:
Severity: D-Minor
Spine: PR
User path: Probable
Repro: 100%
PR – Art – fxFoliageReplicator conflicts with Decal Road, foliage still shown on top of road.
Steps:
1.Open world editor
2.Add an fxFoliageReplicator
3.Put down a decal road over top foliage
4.Foliage grows through solid rock! That's some strong grass!!!
Note foliage on road can be avoided by smart placement of foliage ;)
Bug 5:
Severity: C-Major
Spine: PR
User path: Semi-probable (any exceptionally large particle system has the ability to exemplify this)
Repro: 100%
PR – Scripts – Creating a new particle effect, neglecting to save it, deleting it from the world and switching to object mode and back to the particle editor causes the user to be kicked out of the world error and gets an error message stating the particle effect doesn't exist.
1.Open world editor
2.Go to the particle editor
3.Click the new emitter button
4.Delete the particle that was made when you switched to particle editor mode
5.Switch back to object editor mode
6.Now switch back to the particle editor and you will get kicked out of the game and confronted with a message saying you are using a different version of the world you were editing.
Bug 6:
Severity: C-falsetto
Spine: SPO
User path: Possible
Repro: 100%
SPO – Menus/Options – Inability to remove particles from an emitter once added.
1.Open world editor
2.Go to the particle editor
3.Under particle 2, 3 and 4 select particles
4.Now try and remove them, you can't as it's a drop down selector with no empty or null value available
Bug 7:
Severity: B-scale
Spine: PR
User path: Possible
Repro: 100%
PR – Scripts – Sun flare visible under water.
1.Open the world editor
2.Ensure there is a sun with the sun flare enabled
3.Go under a water plane and look up where the sun should be
4.Observe the sun flare under water!
Bug 8:
Severity: C-arpeggio
Spine: PR
User path: Possible
Repro: 100%
PR – Scripts – Basic lighting bug where certain patches of terrain become completely black until you get close to them.
1.Open the world editor
2.Fly up into the sky
3.Under lighting select basic lighting
4.Look around for any black textured squares of texture
5.Move towards them to see them turn back to normal.
*This bug seems to have something to do with the player being in a certain orientation to the terrain block (I'm assuming up and right, but I'm unsure how to determine if that's correct)
Bug 9:
Severity: C=64
Spine: PR
User path: Possible
Repro: 100%
*This one is weird in that it shows itself in different ways sometimes but always occurs...
PR – Scripts – Black terrain bug transfers over to Advanced lighting, but acts differently. It can either black out the terrain under the player only, or black out all the terrain surrounding the one block the player is over.
*Do steps from Bug 8*
Then switch back to Advanced lighting
