3DS MAX Question!

Does anyone know what affect, if any in FPS, would be on the Torque engine if you were to build a complete model of a set in 3DS and import it into Torque and be able to operate, move around and interact, on that set? In other words I don't really need the massive Terrain area that Torque provides. Just the set i have created.
I would also like to be able to pass actions I am creating in 3DS set, like tree and vegetation swaying created by wind using SpeedTreeMax. If is to expensive(rendering) for a set then what about just importing the Tree and Vegetation which includes the swaying wind affect.
I am really interested in knowing everyone's thoughts on this, pros or cons. I am trying to decide the best direction to go to leverage the best features the Torque engine provides.
Any comments would be deeply appreciated.

Ok, sorry, but being the anal retentive prick that I am this was bugging the hell out of me: it's scenery not scenary.

Thanks Matthew! I just thought if I had an area about 1/4 mile X 1/4 mile I could just model the complete set in 3DS. Nice to know that if I drop the terrain object it would affect the FPS, like you said. I will try it out and see what type of impact it has on my project.now..now Ben :)

If your just looking for scenery and you are not trying to react with the area what your trying to do would work real well. Eliminating the terrain object increases your frame rates dramatically and gives you alot more working room for scenary.
We are doing this on our project. The only part of our world that is collidable is the a kinda set path. Everything else you look at is just scenary so we modelled it all in MAX. We have about 10 sections per level and we run all kinds of ambient animations like trees and grass swaying in the wind as well as running water and other things. I have not had to fight frame rates at all. We do use alot of LOD stuff though. But of course its all scenary.
