Dungeons...

[edit]Well crap... My linked thumbnails didn't work. Hrm... time to fix. I put a link to the bigger pics under each thumbnail[/edit]

Normally my life is filled with theatre, PHP, MySQL, college class and impending deadlines, but I've found myself with free time this week. I have no friggin clue how that happened. However, I decided to take advantage of it and work on some interiors I have been trying to find time for.

I picked up MoM about a week before it went gold and fell in love with it. I decided that I would apply myself to creating a dungeon. The last time I got any mapping done was way back in T2, though. So I decided to touch up real quick by first converting an interior I had done years ago. This is what I came up with (note that I've changed some of the textures since I took these pics because I was not aware that the MoM community was not allowed to use them):

Then, I made a small little... thing. I don't even know what the heck it would be used for, but I've been calling it a parisby, as my own inside joke. I think I may stick it in a graveyard. Anyway, pic:

Then, I moved to the entrance to my dungeon. The first attempt I made turned out to be an excercise in throwing rocks at monkeys and waiting for them to sling crap right back at me. It sucked. So, I decided to start from scratch. The first thing I put down was an arch. For some reason, I decided to rotate it to a horizontal position and the brushes just started to flow. I wound up working for 4 hours straight (until 3 in the morning) because I was just in the zone. This is the building I came up with:

Just today, I finished workin on the first room of this dungeon. I haven't worked on the connecting passages, so the doors look like they lead outside. They won't. Pics: (I know... this friggin blog won't end)

And finally, to cap this cornucopia of screen shots, I started playing with a pillar/ceiling design that I think looks pretty awesome:

Monday I go back to my regular routine, but I'm hoping to find a bit of spare time to work on these further.

Au Revoir!

lol :) No kidding!

Also, maybe I should say that I had to make some custom textures for these interiors. Anyone who would like is more than welcome to use them for whatever. You can find the six of them here. (scroll down as they are not all in the first post)

As well, I posted the .dif files for the forum and parisby in this thread. Note that MoM uses a number of content packs, so the textures are not freely available, unfortunately. Otherwise, have at it.

Wow. I love these. Make sure to post another .plan if/when this zone goes live. ;)

The pillar/ceiling shot looks awesome, BTW.

Edit: I seriously can't wait to play this, hurry up and finish! :D

Are those dif files you posted freely avalible for use? If so, is there a way to get the textures used in them?

Thanks

This stuff looks really, really good. I'd love to roll it into the official build. If you haven't already, could you email lara@prairiegames.com for a submissions form? :)

Edit: We use a number of content packs for MoM... Nycto, please do not distribute any MoM textures along with these difs.

TheBerk! I absolutely remember you from T2maps :D Didn't recognize you without your handle ;)

I wonder how many T2 folks transitioned over to torque after T2 started. I've seen Z0d floating around. I know a lot of the RenWerX guys switched to work on renegades. Also, Tribal Master is working on Illumina.
