Game Development Presentation

For those of you who don't know, I work at a (large) ICT company as a .NET developer. On a regular basis, we have these so called "Technical Meetings". These meetings are basicly nights where our team (and practically any collegue who is interested) gathers to attend to a presentation about various subjects (think frameworks, new microsoft products, etc). Now, my collegues have asked me to give a presentation about game development. This is not directly related to our business, but under the name "Fun Factor" highly appreciated by most developers here. I agreed to giving this presentation.

The presentation will be an overall introduction to game development. The target audience is a group of experienced software developers. I have also been asked to put a small focus on tooling. These guys love hands-on eye-candy :)

I have written down some ideas for possible subjects in the form of a mind map. You can view the mind map by clicking on the link below the thumbnail below. Note that this is currently what I have in mind, and is a work in progress. My question to the community is: what do you think of these subjects? Is there anything that is missing? Anything you would add or change? If you have any comments, questions, additions, ideas or anything else, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help. It is quite busy at work (it seems like it's always crunch time!) so progress will be a bit slow on this one. Still, I will blog about my progress here and I also plan on releasing the presentation to the community once I have presented it at the office.

I like the layout of your presentation. I've been in the corporate world for 6 years as an IT Manager and I have to say that this is one of the better looking slides I've seen in a long time. Overall it looks pretty inclusive though I'll defer to someone with more Game Industry experience about the content.

Implementing concepts, testing, and reiteration should definately be mentioned somewhere.
It covers many areas though, so I don't know where to suggest to place it on the map.

@Alan: Thanks man, I really appreciate it :)

@Unsung Zero: Good ideas, I'll add them to the map. I think a new chapter "development method" would be appropriate. Why didn't I think of that? :) Thanks!

@Lee-Orr Orbach: And thank you as well :)

Sean: That's a good one. Thanks, I will add them.

@Toby: FreeMind, a very nice open source mind mapping tool.

Thanks for the link to the mapping tool. This is why I like reading blogs on GG. You find alot of neat resources and most of them are open sources.
