Man, Is Programming Tedious!

I've been working almost all night on my RPG (yes, I know, RPG's are never meant to be first games) adding TorqueDB and the RPG Dialogue resource, and refining as much script as possible from the FPS starter kit (breaking alot of stuff whilst I was at it). I added a few minor changes that ultimatly lead to nothing useable.
At around 2:30 this morning there was a short power outage - only for about a qaurter of a second, maybe less, so my DPS handled it okay (as in nothing shorted out and my PC didn't turn off). I'm looking into upgrading my PC (again), I just wanted to upgrade my video card, but I have an AGP K8NSNXP, and I need PCI-e for the 3D1 I want. Theres a limited editiopn pack that comes with a mobo for $600 AUD, but I'd need to buy a 939 processor, as I only have a 754.
Moore's Law will make fools of us all.

I guess what's difficult is trying to think up ideas that won't be scolded as remakes or clones.
I've got a pretty good system on paper, but it'll take a bit to code it all, and more to get it working ;)

You worked for SSI in 1992? Thats a pretty impressive record.I guess what's difficult is trying to think up ideas that won't be scolded as remakes or clones.

A lot of people seem to think that RPG's are really complicated, but as long as you plan it all out, and write generic systems (that you can just plug data into), it doesn't have to be more complicated than many other kinds of games.
