A New Year and a little progress...

Well the holidays certainly took over and I hope everyone had as good and safe a time as I did.

Here and there I was able to work on my first project, sketching where I could and fiddling around with torque. I thought while I worked on designs that I'd put together a "stand in" character to replace the blue man. It will give me a chance to begin learning the skills around that and give me a break from strictly drawing or map making. Here's the result so far:

Obviously not complete as I have to work on details, joints and texture maps. I will also relax the arms before I stand building the skeleton. The face is a previous "fooling around" piece that I'll modify a bit for the test. Currently it's running at 1100 tri's and I hope to keep it below 2000 if I can. My target was 1200 but it looks like I'll easily exceed this "p

The designs are coming along and I'll have to contact a few museums and FIrst Nations people to get more accurate information on how our ancestors may have lived and survived 35 odd thousand years ago. That should be fun and interesting :)

Here's a shot of a WIP landscape. Lots to still do as you can see.

This represents an early spring or late fall landscape and needs more shrubbery, trees and such to dress it up. Not to mention some animals.

Anyway, back to work!

Happy New Year everyone!
