Melee and Weapon handling

I've almost got it figured out....
Yep, I have been working on bringing up a resource for all those who want dual weapons, single weapons and melee weapons, and how they work and switch the character animations.

I need to get around programming it but i've been haveing problems exporting my character from 3ds max.
Its been somewhat frustrating but im getting through it.

Once i get 3ds max up and running again i will be fine.

But here are the animation sets i'm going to be including in the resource.
Heck! i'm might even put it into a user pack for every one and you could just buy it.

Player_Rifle_%anim what the player looks like when he holds a rifle
player_Single_%anim What he looks like with a small single projectile weapon
Player_Dual_%anim what he looks like with two small projectile weapons
Player_Lowh_%anim what he looks like with a low held rifle weapon, I.E. ChainGun
Player_Highh_%anim what he looks like with a high held weapon, I.E. Rocket Launcher
Player_NOAMMO_%anim what he looks like before he gets a weapon
Player_Melee_%anim what he looks like with a sword or a knife.


the %anim is the animation calling, for example forward, backward, strafe left strafe right, and of course all the look animations etc.

and each of the weapon sets will have their own melee.

This is a big project but it opens up alot for the community, I think?




Any way Lugi Shooters is coming along great, we got the main character in the game now, and we are working on getting a final build of the game engine so that we have all the features we need.

We will include screenshots of Lugi Shooters once we get to that point. And everybody will have to wait till the demo to see the secret vehicle. Which you can't drive till you have the full version. :)

Oh and and when i say Lugi, i mean the spit kind. Some get it confused with Mario Brothers????

I've always spelt it "loogie", as in "hock a loogie".

I'm still working on this, its been kind of confusing since i only started messing with Torque about 4 and a half months ago.

But i will post as soon as i can get this working

Still working on this... I figure that since i'm going to be puting so many animations up, i will just have a couple of poxes for weapons so that everyone can see it, and the player will mostlikely be a stick figure. so be patient this is a huge project for me.. Especially since this entire week is being covered up with my brothers car.
For those that want to know.........Its a 74 Spirit of America Nova, very rare and we are restoring it a very hard project.

Oh i updated my plan it has example code on it in a post.
But it isn't very good because, well i wrote it off of memory and i'm at work so bear with me... Maybe you will get the general idea of what i'm going for.

Hey Brain, how's this going? Just wondering how progress is coming, I'm currently looking for a nice system to add melee weapons to my little project, as of yet, no nice ideas of my own, but liking how other people have done it.

Progress is going good, there is a little problem with animations with this, something to do with the way milkshape exported our player it was just weird.

It made him look like an ape

But Its got something to do with the look and head blending animations, its just weird.

Someone else said resently milkshape was messing up her bone structures when exporting to Torque, if I talk to her again I'll ask if she got around it.

Can't wait for the resource ;)
