intro
Hello and welcome to another exciting weekly plan highlights!
This week I have to mention a few very special things.
First, Stephen Zepp's NASA plan. Possibly the coolest thing ever! You have to read it!
Second, TGE 1.4!! It's out!! If you haven't heard!
Third, is this game.
Barbarian Roller Rally by J Lesko.

I wrote in one of the first Weekly Plan Highlights that I couldn't wait to play this game when it was completed. I was so happy to find it completed. I played it. It is AWESOME!! It is a very simple but perfectly made game. It has great graphics and music and style and animation and humor. And... my god... the humor. This is my favorite game of all time. I love it. Yeah, it isn't huge like Half Life 2, but it's fun in the way that the good ol' atari games were fun. You remember. Simple game play, but solid and challenging. You have to download and play it. It's free. You will laugh at how funny and cool it is each level until you just crack a rib laughing and cheering in the final level. Well, maybe not if you are a... oh, I can't spoil it. Just play it. Trust me. It's fun and funny as hell!!
Oh... and here's the part that was the reason I put this in the intro. This is a comment by J Lesko to me about this game.
Someday I am going to have my first child... and THEN I will be filled with more pride than I feel right now. THIS is why I do these every week. And it is a lot of work especially since my life is total chaos this last month and a half. I do it because sometimes you just need to know that someone is going to appreciate all of the heart and blood and sweat that goes into making your game. You want recognition. You want to know if you are on track. You want to know that people like what you did. I do this to make sure that everyone who posts a plan gets heard. Because sometimes everyone is too busy to catch them since they come so fast. If you read the comments about the weekly plan highlights you will read people saying thank you for helping them catch up on plans because they missed some. See, people do read them and they do appreciate what you are doing. So keep it up everyone!
Well, I am so honored to have been an influence to help someone make a game. I put this on my list of coolest things to happen in my life. :) Thanks guys!
plans
the 20TH
Chip Lambert - New Things On The Horizon
Can't wait to see work on the D&D game, Chip! Congratulations on getting married! (My 5 year wedding aniversary is in 2 days!) Being married is great! Making games is great! Sounds like you got it made. :)
Now if only you could hook up with an artist who wants to make an RTS fantasy game...
BigPapa - I finally decided it was time post a .plane to share with the comunity what I've been working on.

I like the idea of a racing game where the track becomes a weapon. Thanks for the demos(linux, mac and win), BigPapa!
the 21ST
Johan Carlsson - First plan, still learning, still not 100% planing anything, but...
Johan, I would really like to see remote portals in tge too.
Anton Bursch - Why not to mess with your body
After writing this plan I finally decided to stop being a dumbass and to actually go to the doctor for something I've been putting off for a while. I started taking 2 kinds of antibiotics and a steriod today. Yikes. I've never taken medicine beyond an ansprin or tums, so, I was pretty nervous. But, I've been to the ER with my mother in law almost every week since she's moved in with us and I have gotten the clue and I'm not going to be a tough idiot about my body anymore.
the 22ND
Chris Wilson - New beta program targeting indies, wonder how it will go?
If you need a website and you need it at a really great price, talk to Chris, he's the man. Check out the testimonials. :)
Matthew "King Tut" Langley - Finally another plan, a lot has been going on
Congratulations on your engagement!! Congratulations on your internship! Everyone's really excited for you! :)
Weekly Plan Highlights - Un-Official GarageGames Weekly .Plan Highlights by Anton Bursch Week of November 13th - November 19th, 2005
This was a fantastic plan about MOVIES!??!!! WTF??!!! I try to be patient with this guy. I really do. But he provokes me. Although... Syriana does look pretty damn good. I'll probably see that.
Philipp Hummer - finding a programmer, who lives a) on planet earth or b) comes from any interstellar group, which works for the benefit of all creative races in the universe and the good in all times.
OK. Here is a team with great art but no programmer. They want to make an RTS fantasy game. Hmmm... wasn't there a programmer without art who wants to make an RTS fantasy game??

Oh look! They found each other!! GarageGames scores again!!
Stephen Zepp - Torque isn't just for games any more!
THIS IS OFFICIALLY THE COOLEST THING EVER FOR TORQUE!! Read this plan or you are banned for life from this community for not sharing in the most exciting thing to ever happen to the Torque technology! XBOX 360... it is not worthy of bowing down to the coolness in this plan. Check it out!!
Stephen and Josh... I officially hate you! :P
the 23RD
Ben Garney - 1.4... It's out!
Torque Game Engine 1.4.0 is out! Get it now!
Jeff Tunnell - GarageGames' future support of the Linux operating system. Before causing too much panic, we are not dropping support, but we need to manage expectations.
Discussion about the future of Torque support for linux.
Josh Ritter - Minions of Mirth - Beta Patch

the 24TH
Sam Bacsa - Thanksgiving and things!
Sam had some 'real life' get in the way of finishing up Delta 7. He went to Lake Tahoe for Thanksgiving!!
Phil Carlisle - Yayy!
Teri (krabbity) Thom - In-house screenshot of the day. :)
Yay!!! Always great updates about Teri's game! :)

Skye Gellmann - Weird Times.. I'm either feeling incredibly free, or incredibly weird...
LOL!!!

More cool snapshots. :)

John Seguin - Working with a Composer, Part IV: Providing Useful Feedback
John, can't say thank you enough for this series. I hope it becomes a resource eventually.
James W. Hofmann - scripting language implementation in python
Good luck, James. :)
the 25TH
Ian 'Omroth' Hardingham - Good afternoon everyone.
Determinance is under full production, and headed for a February release date.

the 26TH
Ian Duchesne - The Paradise Project (TM) is a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) playable from any PC that was created to offer players the opportunity to live out a second life within a virtual world. It allows players to live a worry-free and challenging life outside of real world constraints.
This is a PR plan for The Paradise Project.
Randy McMillen - My first project using the Torque Engine will be a futuristic sports game with arcade style gameplay.
Good luck, Randy!! It's sounds like a fun game to me!!! I'll be waiting for those promised screenshots on your next plan. :)
Nauris Krauze - Yeh, long time no type.
I am a big fan of Nauris. Check out some snapshots of what's he's been working on. They kick ass, don't they! :)

Ryan Wenke - Small update on Project "Survival"

Josh Ritter - Minions of Mirth: Player Worlds
Woohoo! Player operated persistent worlds!!!

Launch in 17 days and counting :)
shameless abuse of this outlet
Jimomighty created this hilarious thread QuoteMe. It has some really funny comments in it and if you haven't seen it you should check it out. It only takes a couple minutes but it's fun. Here's the challenge and image from the thread.
Now comes my shameless abuse part. I won't spoil it for you, but someone did more than just add text to the image and it inspired me to do some digital imaging. I posted some of these in my latest personal plan, but, they are too funny and I am going to post them here too. See. I am evil. I should be objective not exploitive. :P But the Jay and Silent Bob/Matt and Ben Bradley/Affleck/Daredevil and the Metallica images crack me up too much. :P
Jay, Ben, Matt and the chef as Metallica.

The original image.

Now for the View Askew Universe.
Jay and Silent Matt.

Here's the original.

Ben Bradley as Ben Affleck playing Daredevil playing with Jennifer Garner. :P

OK. So, that was shameless. But since I'm being shameless, let me point out that I was able to do a pretty good job getting the heads to work in the images. I was especially proud of the hat that Jay wears, since I drew it in Photoshop with a mouse. And Ben's face lighting which I used a number of masks and filters and blends to get to match the lighting of the Daredevil image. This was great fun and I was suprised to find that it was like riding a bike picking this up again. Great fun! :P I was going to put captions on Jay and Silent Matt... but I am sure that I would be in big trouble if I wrote what I was thinking when looking at that picture. :P And DareDevil Ben... good god, Ben would kick my ass. Doesn't mean that you guys can't do it. :)

I've been a fan of iconjures's work and site design for almost a year now , great work in a reasonable time frame, impeccable customer service/support , and now people can get relatively the same work for 1/4 or less of the normal price. If i have enough jack left over after paying rent you can count me in...

The people who work at Iconjure are simply awesome.
I sent them an email with some retarded newbie questions, and they answered promptly. And the answer was so detailed and informative, there is absolutely no reason for me to look anywhere else.
I find myself often dissapointed by customer (or future customer) support, but theses guys got their sh*t together.
The deal they're offering indies is truly a godsend. TRY IT!

How bout this... here I am in need of artists for my team so we can get on with our project... and here is a team with very talented artists looking for a programmer for the exact same reason... maybe we could benefit from each other maybe? Let me know if you're willing to trade some art for code so to speak.... email me at chiplambert AT lambertsoft-enterprises DOT com if you are interested.

I highly appreciate the effort you put into these weekly highlights. It is a way for me to get a good digest of what happened with everyone over the past week without having to go through every single post to know who's who and what's what. PLEASE KEEP DOING THIS! It's part of why I keep coming to GG to check up on things as I learn more and more how to use torque (oh man! 1.4 kicks so much butt!).
