Plan for Richard Van Stone

Well I'm working on my first content pack and it's premise has gotten various mixed reviews. Long story short I'm preparing it to function as a combination of functions. Initially it's a pack that developers can put right into the game and they'll be ready for play. Now a lot of people have said...nobody is using bugs in their current games. Well that's absolutely true! I however, want to start to encourage people to make games that are more in the Mario/Megaman/Sonic vein of play. Secondly the pack will serve as a tutorial for new users to torque. I want to create an interface where people can learn to do basic things in torque, make functions, learn how to drop characters in game, how to tie specific commands (such as attacks) to a character model and how to implement them through keybindings. Lots of work to do...here are some art concept sheets I'm working on. All feedback will be appreciated.

Those drawings make me want to pull out bugs life :) It would be interesting to have some games set in the bug realm. I used to love sim ants way back in the day.

Yeah they're really high in the cute factor. The game will feature environments that are huge in comparison to the bugs such as grass and mushrooms.

Hi Richard,

Your concept art looks very nice. I'm looking forward to seeing this completed.

This looks excellent!
I am new to Torque development and programming. A content pack that teaches the basics is exactly what I've been searching for. Good luck!

Well tell me what you're looking for and I can be sure to include it in the pack. Nothing works better than learning from the newbians.
