Plan for Josh Ritter

Here are a couple videos I shot this afternoon.
The first shows off the new "Epic Battle System" which is tied to our quest/dialog system. The battle portrayed is a skirmish between Taskmaster Yuraz's goblin troops and dwarves under Captain Zhald's command.
At the beginning of the video I am handing in "Taskmaster Yuraz's Battle Plans" which spawns the skirmish. The battle system has rules like "Captain Zhald must survive", etc. It's quite fun to play with a group of level 40's :) Of course, the outcome of the battle is also tied to the quest!!!
The skirmish is a taste of what is to come. There is a dedicated "Epic Battle" zone is in production.
-------------->>>Skirmish Video (70 megs and long as it shows a number of attack waves. I didn't have time to edit it.)
The next video is just some quick dragon stuff, not much to say here other than Magnus Blikstad of WiT Entertainment really did a great job with out dragons.
-------------->>>Dragon Video (30 megs)
The outfit my Drakken monk is wearing is by Christophe Canon. It's a very cool, very Shaolin, prestige robe! Both videos feature music from the awesome score by Ronald van Deurzen.
... and just so the plan has an image, here's an image from earlier in the week. It features icons from T.King, who kindly gave us permission to use them:

I'm pretty sure there'll be a patch later today. So, more goodness in the thread I have been posting them to, later.

@Brett: You can cancel any non-harmful spell by double clicking the icon in the command view. We'll probably make shrink and enlarge alliance only :)-Josh Ritter

Btw, is it just me or does the Dragon look like its vomiting rather then breathing fire? :D

@craig: that is the funniest thing I've heard all day
btw the head doesn't match the body in that first character, the contrast and brightness seem low compared to the body, and also given the head size and shape it seems like it should belong to a big fat guy and not a trim guy, just sayin'

Are you still using that render 3D mesh to 2D technique you were doing when you were using the Q2 codebase? or are those fighters in the skirmish proper 3D meshes?
If theyre 3D, how many polies? I guess theyre not skinned right? Seems like you got plenty of lil guys on there without it slowing down.
Nice work!

@Phil: I can answer that. They're skinned, it's in fact the exact same models as are used in the rest of the game. They're about 1000-1500 polgons each. I really have no idea why, but you are right; it doesn't seem to slow things down at all.
