Plan for Thijs Sloesen

Well, lately I have been diving into the art so to speak. I'm basicly playing around a bit trying to come to something I can submit to gamedev.net's Four Elements [4E4] contest. I doubt I will have time to finish my entry, but it sure is a lot of fun developing it! Some friends have been bugging me to release some visuals, so here are two screenshots of parts of the game I have been working on. Granted, it is no Van Gogh (I am a programmer, so it can't be more than programmer art). But it's there. Live and kicking in my game world!

I think that's part of what I like so much about game development. The idea of creating a world that exists only in your imagination, and making it more and more solid as you progress!

A little word about the screenshots. The game is being developed using the Torque Game Engine in combination with the Synapse Lighting Pack. The trees come from 3D Diggers.

Anyway, here are the shots. I would be glad to hear your comments if you have any:

Did you make that castle? Not too shabby for programmer art. :) What's the game about?

Thanks!

Yep, I made the castle in Quark. Still work in progress, but it shows the general idea :)

The game itself is your typical "save the princess" kind of adventure game. Haven'I h worked out all details yet, but that's the general idea.
