Plan for Adam deGrandis

Im officially a GarageGames intern. So far my biggest (or at least most consistant) duty is to take smacktalk from Mr. Zachary Zadell.
Seriously though, ive been here one week now and its already been awesome. Ive been writing and learning and making and its been nothing but pure fun. And HOLY CRAP, there are so many insanely cool projects going on here that steam has blown from my ears on 2 occasions.
But enough about how my summer is ruling way harder than yours. Lets get to the meat.
Tutorials
Ive written 2 tutorials, one of which Im going to post on my little community contribution, Games Extract, and another that I submitted as a resource on this site. The Games Extract tutorial is a simple one on how to set up a transparent material. The other is how to use copy constructors for TSE materials, which is basically a way of creating a single block of material values that many different materials can pull from. The process is kind of like includes in web design.
And if you don't know what includes are, then Im afriad you're S.O.L., my friend.
The transparency tutorial is actually a lead in for my main tutorial project (which Im starting on Monday). A comrehensive little shindig on how to deal with z sorting issues in Torque. This is going to be a big one and I imagine will probably help quite a few people, which pleases me greatly. I have no idea when its going to be done.
Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa!
Venture Africa is looking hot, if I may say so myself. The visuals are being polished and refined and the end result is a really "fun" look. Ive just about finished modeling the foliage. After that comes some serious level work. If you want screens, you'll have to wait for the best little project leader in the world, Andy Schatz, to post them in his next plan
Car Pack
The car pack has been making quick progress. Ive got the form of it all nailed (more or less) and Ive been having fun with all the little sexy details. The last major thing I have to model is the interior.
I ve decided to shift the focus of the pack a bit. Originally I was going to create a couple models from several different styles (rally cars, muscle cars, etc). Instead, Im going to make fewer car models, but make the options of use wider. What I mean by that is this base car model will come with a selection of textures, wheels, and random details (like spoilers). This way, you can make a rally car if you want, but you can also make a ghetto bling version or a joe citizen version. Heres to customization.
Ill leave you with a screenshot bonanza. Thanks for reading.

What a guy, this Adam. He is doing great work... and GG is lucky to have him as a super-intern.
And by the way, the z-sorting tutorial is key, this was a problem for us early on on Venture Africa as well.

I love the low-poly-ness of it, it still looks rather detailed =D Great job!
