Plan for Matthew "King Tut BoB" Langley

Ok I've had a fairly busy weekend, working on different projects. I was hoping to do a full GID but didn't get the chance. Fortunately I just squeezed in 2 1/2 hours to do a quick GID :) about 95% of the code I did today, the last 5% was taken from a previous Physics Demo.

Its a simple game called "Magic Boxes" (lol for lack of a better name)... its simple there are a bunch of boxes that bounce around in an enclosed area, at intervals they randomly bounce in different directions and off of eachother. They also change colors at intervals.

Up top you can see what color box you need to get... you then need to drop it in the drop here box... if you don't it will be deleted. It then will fall into either two bins. You get +50 points for getting a correct color box, then bonus points depending on which bin it lands... lol very simple... I don't have a starting or ending screen :( but I did finish it (hopefully few bugs).

the images are custom, lol nothing to brag about of course...

heres the game :)

Again note this was a simple 2 1/2 hour GID lol :)

I scored 1300

Its a pretty fun game. I can see how it could be expanded upon to make a fully polished game. Its very impressive for only 2 1/2 hours worth of work.

I think this is a really cool concept!
You should really expand on this idea!

@Zach and Burning:

Thx, wanted to make a simple game like this when I made the Physics Demo. Really think I will polish this off, add particle effects, puffs and fades, Load in and out Guis ( especially once I finish the Gui Creator ).

@Chris: feel free to give me some feedback :) Any feedback is good feedback lol... ok well 'almost' any (doesn't point to the thread about Unreal).

@Josh: thanks :) Originally I was going to do a solid game in an hour lol... about 1 1/2 hours I had most of the game mechanics going, the last hour was custom images (real cheesy nonethless) placing, scoring, packaging, etc... T2D really can pump things out quick lol.

I am seriously considering doing a whole collection of simple games based off of "magic boxes"... lol some based off simliar ones to this, maybe another mini game similar to lemmings... etc. So many "Ball" games out that them boxes need some attention ;)

EDIT: In fact for my final college project I was wanting to make a TGE/T2D Arcade Sim... with T2D windows being placed on 3D arcade machines, possibly throwing in competitions, challenges, etc... guess if I make a bunch of these then I could use them for the arcade games.

For some reason i can sometimes pick up the Big "choose your color" block ;)

Lemmings you say... /me smiles!

I don't have T2D... But I have an idea for you to prototype... if you want to and have the time

You have 100 block similiar to what you have now... Then you have to move some platforms you can move around. Now all your 100 blocks are stationary until you click the 'GO' button. Then you need to make the blocks fall in a certain area (like you have now!) But make the 'way down' more complicated.

Hmmm nevermind... I think I'll do a 3d version! :-P
