Plan for Rob "Scar" Parton

I was having an discussion the other day with my grade 4 teacher, who mentioned she was looking for new ways for her students to work on math. I remember back then (a long way back, even) about the math quizzes we had and stuff like that. They now have good computers in the room now, and she asked me if there was anything I could think of to help her out.

After some thought, my new T2D project (once I have the money to get T2D, of course), MathAddicts was born.

MathAddicts will be a collection of math-based minigames, giving students practice in basic math. I did a number of these in Visual Basic back when I was in high school, but I thought maybe I should remake them using Torque.

The first minigame, covers basic addition. Spun! consists of four "wheels" that you spin using a controller. Each wheel has a collection of numbers on them. The goal of the game is to rotate the wheels so that the numbers pointing to the middle of the board all add up to the "Goal Number" in the middle.

The faster you get the correct numbers, the higher the score you get. Lower levels have less numbers on the wheels, and lower values to make it easier to pick up, and as you get to higher levels, the numbers grow as does the Goal Number.

I will be posting more of the mini-games as I dig them out of my old high-school notes!

Good idea Rob. It'd be cool to see some educational games around. I'd especially like it if they were more puzzle orientated. :)

Good Luck!

hey Rob!
I have been itching to make a Math Education game for nearly 2 years now (ask Melv, JoshW and TimB about it ;) ) Now that T2D is out I am seriously considering doing so, just need the "push" and free time to launch the beast-o-burden

Maybe we can sync up some time , share ideas maybe colab?
