Additional Monsters:
Namco Trademark Lawyers

Additional Characters:
Pacman
Ms. Pacman
etc.

Sorry had to :)

It looks like it could be a great project for you to learn from, but definitely not marketable at all for many legal reasons (and the fact that it's already been done and sold less than Ru Paul's Go-Go Halloween Palace for GBA).

LOL actually that game sounds fun. Reminds me of pitfall harry the way you describe it with obstaces and such. And "its been done" hasnt stopped countless other developers from re-using ideas.

@Ed
I think you took it the wrong way. I encourage Lee to continue development of this game, it will be an excellent learning experience for him and could prove fun as well. I was simply referring to the marketability of a game like this.

As Michael wrote but, it's worth repeating

1. Already been done!
2. You can't use the name PacMan in any way shape or form.
3. Hope you got a good lawyer as the name PacMan is wholely made up and therefore wholely owned by Namco! There is NO argument you could use for saying the name should be considered to be in the public domain.
4. It's PacMan! It was good like 20 years ago or something. Now it's just plain boring! Gack even Namco give the damned games away as a freebee in their PacMan World (3D) games cos they couldn't sell it on it's own merrits anymore!

If you haven't started this yet. I'd advise you to abandon or totally re-theme the project somehow.

Ahhh... its named pacKman with a K.... can't you see the difference. The character carries around a pack and is a man.... can't trademark that. Maybe he'll get as lucky as Linspire and have Namco give him $20 million to go away.
