Plan for Chris Labombard

So I have just finished reading the last 30 pages of .plans and 50 pages of resources (all the way back to October 2003)...
Well, I didn't read them all, maybe 1/3 of them. Just the ones that interested me. It only took me 8 hours... I have probably learned more about torque in the last 8 hours then I have in the last 2 months.
To anyone who is starting to feel comfortable with torque but is a little shaky about doing anything I suggest you read through resources, from the most recent on backwards.... There is tonnes and tonnes of info there to take and absorb.

About the author
I have been a professional game programmer for over 5 years now. I've worked on virtually every platform, dozens of games and released a few of my own games, including 2 iPhone titles and a title waiting release on Big Fish Games.

I wrote down every resource I thought was going to benefit me. I plan on going through the rest of them still....

Another good thing to do is to sit in the IRC channel and watch the answers to questions. Pretty much all questions anyone new to Torque will have are answered many times over on the forums, resources, and on IRC (frequently, it seems), possibly with the exception of a few very specific things. Eventually you'll find yourself answering the questions with no idea how you knew the answer ;-)

After that's done. You put in /connect irc.maxgaming.net
It will then connect to the irc server, then you type /list
A list of all the channels will come up, and you will select #garagegames .
Then your in.

Go to the Mozilla site and download Firefox. It has Chatzilla on it, and it's free. Then go to tools and select chatzilla. Then you type in your nickname, etc. After that's done. You put in /connect irc.maxgaming.net

I also did it when I first got Torque... and since then I've been watching the forums literally every single day at least 2 times (during the week)...
Torque 3D Owner Stephen Zepp
I'd then go and search for the same things in the forum areas, and read those as well. Some days were less 'effective' than others, but on the whole, I learned more about Torque in that way than the endless days I would have wasted pulling my hair out trying to figure out code in the early months!
Seriously, give it a try--even the "experienced" dev's out there--you'd be amazed what you can learn!
