Dogwaffle version 1.2 is a new product based on the powerful achitecture of Dogwaffle 2.0. We've created a light, yet powerful tool for artistic expression... it replaces the older free v1.11b release which dates back to early 2002.

For users who want to get the full power of Project Dogwaffe, we offer the commercial version at a low price. In it, you will get even more power with advanced features, more filters, more special FX and more animation support. And most importantly, there have been and likely will continue to be regular updates and free patches for the commercial release. (for example, the January 2004 release of 2.0 was followed by almost monthly by several patches - 2.0b, 2.0c, 2.0d, 2.1, etc... As of this writing April '05 the latest is version 3, PD Pro. Keep watching...)

Was this supposed to read " Dogwaffle version 1.2 is a new product based on the powerful achitecture of Dogwaffle 1.0" ? (instead of 2.0 as it reads?)

Dogwaffle's a pretty cool app. It's not the gimp, but it doesn't try to be. It's more focused on being a lower cost Painter alternative, and it does a really good job with the natural media simulation. Worth taking a look at it, especially now that the free version has been given a bit of a facelift. :)

Paul, nope. The free version has now been bumped to 1.2 (from 1.11), while 2.0 was the commercial version. The numbering system can get a bit confusing for those not familiar, but it sorta makes sense after a bit. :-pDogwaffle's a pretty cool app. It's not the gimp, but it doesn't try to be. there is now alsop a Lua scripting caopability for Dogwaffle. Created by Marco Pontello as a free plugin. www.mark0.net or www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/lua - based on gluas, also found in the GIMP and now artweaver.de as well.
