Plan for David Bax

So I bought the engine... I even bought a Mac Mini to try to do cross-platform development on (which I know nothing about).
Lots of reading to do. I need to decide on an art package/pathway to use, as well.

Eventually, I decided not to though. When I have a game that is worthy of porting cross-platform, I shall get one. That at least provides a little motivation for me. (and by that time, there might be something better!)

I've been thinking of one too, saw it a a recent computer fair here. Incredibly small and sleek looking. It exudes class. Performance was not bad either, though I think it was a souped-up model on display.Eventually, I decided not to though. When I have a game that is worthy of porting cross-platform, I shall get one. The mini is a great little machine. About the only problem that I've had with it is that I couldn't install Motion because of the graphics card. That's okay, though. It runs wonderfully on my dual G5. TGE runs great on it (though debug can give some burps in framerate).

Thanks for the info. I did wonder about the graphics card they have in them. I would have thought a 9800 would have been better or a geforce 6600 but, I guess they wanted to make the cheapest mac box they could get away with. I'll probably go for an e-mac or something like that instead.

Motion is Apple's effects package. It's not as advanced as Boris FX, but then it's also $299 rather than $799, too. It's extremely intuitive and fun to use. We've been using it for local commercials and it gives us a professional edge that's missing in this town.
@Peter
Yeah. I believe that it's a retooled e-mac with the 6600. Nice little machine, though. I mainly got it so that my mom could check e-mail and surf the web and such without worrying so much about viruses screwing things up.
