Plan for Benjamin "Djaggernaut" Chavigner

"Again" because the first time I posted this plan it didn't work (I guessed it went timed out since I've gone to lunch inbetween)

I will post a few .plans on this game to update the progress and post some screenshots.

When I was making sport like football (soccer) , I was oftenly very disapointed by the opponent behaviour and I must say, some time, it would have been just great to simply mistake the ball with that opponent head (by accident of course)... It would have been even cooler to have this as part of the rules :)
That's why I wanted to create an ARCADE sport game. (Neo geo was having a lot like Windjammer or that Ball-trap game :) )

Torque 2D seems the perfect engine for it (congrats Mr. May on that, very impressive) Very fluid, very smooth, an effect editor (wooohoo) and a physics engine!

This game is a 2/4players volley game, totally arcade oriented, with some cool tricks to do and bonus. I wanted 4 players representing 4 countries (Russia, France, USA and Japan).

So I started by the characters, the russian one (the mother home of my coding teammate Alexander Gayevoy, also known as the person who speaks lot of languages)

I did a quick concept:
speedwars.free.fr/ssb/rusc.jpg
As I liked this look, I decided to build up the model:
speedwars.free.fr/ssb/rus4.jpg
(yes the arms are big on purpose)

But globally I wasn't satisfied, and doing a different char for each country would have been too long.
So I did a generic character.
I'll change the colors to create new countries.
At first I wanted to animate the whole thing in 2D:
speedwars.free.fr/ssb/Smasher2.jpg

But if I wanted a correct level of detail, the animation would have been horrible to do, so I came back to my 3d prog and build up a new char (again) based on the 2d one:
speedwars.free.fr/ssb/frpr6.jpg
I was happy with the sport look, we quickly recognize it's a sport player.

Well, it has been lot of steps, but in the end I got my France team player ;)

Next plan: the player animations or my character pack

Salut.

Good model Ben. He looks like a human bloodbowl receiver.

Thanks Oliv, I thought bloodbowl setting was heroic fantasy though.

Here the setting is modern, could be nowadays...

Hello, guys!

@Ben: hi, man ;) by the way, I even can understand a bit of French (checked myself by the translation)

Yeah, the Ben's art is great, I'm having the pleasure to work with Ben and we can be able to show some progress soon, as I finish my relocation stuff (working on a contract basis has its cons and pros...). Yep, T2D is an excellent platform and should save us time ahead.

I should make my .plan too... well, after the things will calm down a bit ;)
