Plan for Jeff Gran

Well, just a small update on what I'm up to. I've been up here in Eugene for a work-week now, and it's been good so far. I've put in 3 days of work on the character pack, and it's going along swimmingly. Based on Peter Dwyer's request and info the GG guys have given me, it seems that simple, realistically proportioned male and female characters are in fairly high demand, so that's what I'm going to make.

Day 1: Modeled a male, around 1750 triangles.

Day 2: Detailed the male out to around 2400 tris, unwrapped the UVs, and made a female version by changing the proportions around.

Day 3(today): Started painting the texture on the male. Got it all blocked in, and did some preliminary rendering on some parts of it. Texturing takes a long time.

My plan is to finish the texture for both and then rig them and animate. The timeline for this is probably in the 2-3 weeks range. I figure I will provide the models rigged and unrigged both in the final pack, so that the buyer will be able to modify the model and then re-rig it themself, and still use the skeleton and animations.

Thanks for your interest if you read this.

Yeah it's been awesome having a third artist around!

But now that he's all settled in we spring the surprise on him and next week we really put him through the rounds. ;-)

You guys should have crushed his will the first week. That way everything would be uphill from here. :)
