Plan for Weston Tracy

Greetings All,

Finally got the Urban Pack out the door! And wow! Am I glad to see it finally done. Ever since I saw Brave Tree's content packs years ago, I've wanted to jump on the band wagon. And truly, it was just what I hoped for. This set of objects wasn't what I had in mind back then, but it's been a great way to feel out the process of publishing with Garage Games. Hopefully it will also bring with it the added bonus of generating a little familiarity with everyone out there in Indy land! I hope you guys enjoy the work...If you've got any projects in the works that have any modern civilized area, this pack will shave weeks off your dev cycle...and give you time to work on the really fun stuff...at least that's my hope! For more details on the pack please check out the product page!

Just some quick gushing...for anyone considering publishing with Garage Games, I highly recommend it. The enthusiasm, professionalism and talent in the marketing department here is superb. Their drive, coupled with Josh Williams relentlessly kick-ass support as 3rd party ambassador makes it a no-brainer. The publishing process was super smooth, a wonderful experience all around.

Anyway, I hope you guys will check out the new pack. It's been a pleasure being a part of this community for the last three years...I look forward to many more to follow.

-Weston

Those models looks way too good to be in my game. :( They'd just look too out-of-place. Great job on the Urban Pack, the models look alot like Half Life 2 objects.

@Josh: you could always use the models and just re-skin them

I know my name is not josh but I thought I would add that the models shown above look a little more game friendly in the dev snapshot. The ones above look more movie quality.

Then again maybe its because it's on a white background

@Josh

Thanks for the 'compliment'...I'm not sure how to solve this problem. I think you're probably selling your project short....and this stuff is just filler, it won't distract people from the meat...I made it as generic as I could in order to avoid any sort of thunder stealing.

@Thomas

Going to put in a couple of weeks on some contract work loose ends and a full game project I'm partnered in with Brian Ramage. Then it's on to work on a Modern Weapons Pack for GG. Should begin work on that mid february.

Beautiful work! I can't help but be jealous, so I'll just trade that off for admiration. ;)

I would love to hear more about this weapons pack, I'd had something similar in mind for some time now.. Anyway.. I'd love to see you drop in the IRC channels and hear a bit more... :)

Again, I admire your work, great stuff.

@Erik

Thanks for the feedback...really like your stuff too. Be interested to see more of it. Do you have a site?

The weapons pack is going to include all the most popular weapon types. Currently lined up: pistol, 2 submachine guns, RPG, shotgun, machine gun, assault rifle, sniper rifle. All will be detailed with normal, specular and environment maps to nail down the different metals and woods. Once I get a couple of guns done I'll post some shots.
