Plan for L Foster

While some of us were chatting today on the GG IRC channel #indieart, we were once again painfully reminded why being indie artists sucks... mainly the issues of working alone and being independant. This soon shifted our focus to and inspired us to possibly do a fun session that is a bit of a take off from the great Game in a Day that Tom Bampton organizes but for artists... Art in a Week.
The goal of Art in a Week is primarily as an art exercise to try out new things or new goals that we normally would not encounter with our current game projects and is best to thought of it as drawing practice for a digital age as opposed to a competition.
Each artist will be given a week to complete the goals outlined, then on the deadline date we will meet up and discuss one another's art: critiques on what we like and don't like, technical issues or items we encountered or solved, how or why we did something a particular way, methods that we used and lastly share other ideas and inspire one another to do more.
We plan on holding our first Art in a Week session January 30th and will be posting our requirements for the project then.

Reminds me of aquatic creature contest. We should really do that some time.

We've seen our artist base widen, and now it's time to see it grow. This is definitely going to be a blast.Reminds me of aquatic creature contest. We should really do that some time.
