Plan for Stephen Zepp

In the 3 weeks since the RTS SK has been available, the community has exploded. The resource mentioned in my last .plan has grown to include just about all basic tasks for harvesting and managing resources, as well as placing buildings, and tying specific buildings to player actions. It's even gotten community donated/passed on art (all license free) that is included in the installation. The most fascinating thing about the resource to me (alongside the incredible community participation) is that everything that was accomplished is in script.

Now that the resource is finished, our project is focusing on adding some basic AI to RTS units so they will respond to attacks, as well as respond to any newly visible enemy units in their vision range. We're also putting the finishing touches on our internal prototype release to the rest of the (non-devs) on the team for testing.

Pretty amazing how fast the RTS-SK has stepped up our development timeline getting to this milestone--our original goal for this internal release was April 2005--we're fully 4 months early.

GO GG!

Exciting stuff! Will be very interesting to watch the RTS community grow and with these improvements, I almost want to build a RTS game myself. ;)
