Gnome 1: This is where all our work is done.
Kyle: So what are you gonna do with all these underpants you steal?
Gnome 1: Collecting underpants is just phase one. Phase one: collect underpants.
Kyle: So what's phase two?
[Silence]
Gnome 1: Hey, what's phase two?!
Gnome 2: Phase one: we collect underpants.
Gnome 1: Ya, ya, ya. But what about phase two?
[Silence]
Gnome 2: Well, phase three is profit. Get it?
Stan: I don't get it.
Gnome 2: (Goes over to a chart on the wall) You see, Phase one: collect underpants, phase two-
[Silence]
Gnome 2: Phase three: profit.
Cartman: Oh I get it.
Stan: No you don't.
Kyle: Do you guys know anything about corporations?
Gnome 2: You bet we do.
Gnome 1: Us gnomes are geniuses at corporations.

Hmmm... think I need a few more steps before Profit.

Still, it's far better than to put Screenshots of the day in the plans section, or advertising.. or anything else that ain't planning, anyway. But no one critizises that because the person that wrote it is known within GG, for instance.

What's so funny about this David? He's not very unrealistic in his planning, although a bit undetailed.Still, it's far better than to put Screenshots of the day in the plans section, or advertising.. or anything else that ain't planning, anyway. But no one critizises that because the person that wrote it is known within GG, for instance.

God.. we come down on people because they can't spell, or because they have bad grammar, or because they are so many years under eighteen! I thought David's comment was funny as hell.. And I think that Philip understood it.. I know I understood it..
That's all that matters.

Stefan... you sound bitter. Is there a problem when someone posts a screenshot of their progress? Or if someone advertises that they've finished their stuff? You need to just plain chill. Plans are for anyfrigginthing and aren't meant to follow one, and only one, format. It just sucks when people go all hinky because someone posts a tutorial in code snipits, or puts a snipit in resources, or puts images in their plans. This site doesn't need a bunch of soup nazis telling people what they can and cannot do. We're all just here to have fun, and we're here to work on our games. And if I want to put a damned screenshot in my .plan then I'm gonna do it. God.. we come down on people because they can't spell, or because they have bad grammar, or because they are so many years under eighteen! I thought David's comment was funny as hell.. And I think that Philip understood it.. I know I understood it..

No, I'm not bitter. Are you? Maybe you think I'm bitter because you disagree? Oh well.
No I do not have a problem with someone posting a screenshot of their plan. Advertising, kinda - it's not a plan. You can do it elsewhere. So anything, generally could be stuffed into a plan, say a resource? No, I thought not.
Let me put it this way; I do not have a problem with anyone posting anything that's not where it should be. It's not a problem, but it's something I do. I post Bugs in the Bug forum, instead of the Industry forum, for instance.
Why is it named "plan"? Indeed, because people should post their plans in there.
Not everyone does, you should compliment this guy for doing that.
If I look for screenshots I look in the Screenshots spot, and if I look for plans and ideas I look here. I'm 100 % sure that you get my point. ;)
We're all here to have fun, you are right!
But just because you don't find organization important, doesn't mean that everyone else agrees with you. I find it easier to look for something when I know where it is.
-Haha, Brett thought it was funny. Then everyone does! Right. You knew that Philip understood it (hrmpf).. of course it's funny when you're not the one being laughted at. Maybe Philip was serious.
That's all that matters, dear Brett.
Your comment is totally pointless, you seem only to look for a fight and I won't give you one. See you.

the .plan has kind of fallen out of use, as most people are switching to blogs..
Historically speaking, the .plan became a place where people could say whatever they want, so stating that a .plan is only appropriate for posting ones 'plans' would be an inaccurate statement.
Speaking for myself, I 'advertise' in my .plan for a couple of reasons. One, because a lot of what I do revolves around products we are working on and plan to ship as products.
Secondly, the IOTD and News items are not cross referenced in the company profile. If someone comes to garagegames, and see BraveTree.. they can click on the link to our company Bio, then click on the members and see what they have done.. read their .plans, and see what the company has worked on and what they are working on now.. including products who IOTD or news item has long since been put on the back page. I do this all the time.. so, in the quest for organization and in my search for infomation I find important, it helps me.. it saves me time.
I repsect your opinion, but your idea of organization and what is 'proper' is not globally shared, and in the case of .plans.. not historically correct.

actually, it is called a .plan as it is a reference to a a .plan file when using finger. Traditionally, they were supposed to be used to notify those looking for you or your plans, but people would post just about anything there, including ASCII art. the .plan has kind of fallen out of use, as most people are switching to blogs..
