Plan for Eric C. Tomlinson

Well finally we have a great team started and are really making some headway on our endeavour.
If you have not been following my .plans then here is a short synopsis on what the project is and what we are trying to do. ImagiNet Games is a team of purely volunteer team members that are producing a MORPG (Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). Now you see the MORPG (and I didn't say Massively Multiplayer for a reason) and you instantly think 'Oh yeah here goes another one...Already doomed for failure'. I see this all the time but we haven't got our heads in the clouds thinking we are the next UO or Everquest.
What we want to do is create a Online Role Playing Game that at least attempts to have the RPG put back into it. Now this in itself is a task so we decided not to shoot for thousands upon thousands of subscribers, but a small group of people who want to have great gameplay and not just flashy models, content and wide open spaces. We don't want it to be basically a online game that is designed around how many monsters you kill or who owned who. We want to get the community back into the game. This will be a game that people go to to socialize and make a character that does more than hunt, kill and sell. We want merchants, politicians, seedy guilds, subversion and to state it most simply 'A online world that changes because every character action has a reaction'.
The team is nine members strong with some people doing more duties than others. We have writers, programmers, a modeler, a level designer and a concept artist. We all have either full time jobs or full time school so we have to manage our work/school time, our personal time and the time alloted for game development.
Now back to the game, UnCivilized is set in the future of the Earth after we end up thrashing the eco system and then destroying ourselves. People have changed and evolved as well as the other lifeforms on Earth. The continents have changed and now small towns and cities are starting to some back. New technology is being developed and old being re-discovered. All it needs now is you (Marketing already starting to come out. j/k)
Now that all this has been laid out, we have some good news as to how far along we are and what we plan.
Our plan is to develop the game using the TSE and heavily modifying it to fit our needs.
Programming
We have almost finished the full design of our login server and will soon be moving on the master game server next. For those who are interested in becoming a member of the programming team, please got to ImagiNet Games and register using the registration link in the upper right hand area of the web page. After registering, send an e-mail to eric_tomlinson@imaginetgames.com and I will get your account setup with privelages to team areas.
Writing
We have finshed two of the many playable character races and are starting on a third and fourth this week. The first two races have been sent to the concept artist.
Concept Art
The concept artist has started working on the first character race and has turned out some remarkable artwork that is posted on the site, ImagiNet Games, under the UnCivilized menu. His style is awesome and he is very in tune with what our writers and me, the game designer, picture in our small little heads. He's real close with our first race and has posted pictures on the site under the UnCivilized menu for Concept Art.
Modeling
With the concept artist finalizing the poses for the first race, our modeler has started trying to get the art converted into actual models. His first attempts are located on the site, ImagiNet Games, under the UnCivilized menu for 3D. We are hoping to get another more experienced modeler to join up, so if your are intrigued or interested in the position, please follow the links and register, e-mail me and join a great team.
Well that's about it. I know it doesn't seem like much but we also have a design document that is about 1/2 way finished and already has over 50 pages. We are designing all the bells and whistles, but we will be putting features in with a phased approach with full tesing and alpha/beta testing planned for each new phase.
All in all this make take us several years, but we are all committed and keeping taking just small steps one after another until we can finally get this out to the gaming community.

Just to make things clear, it's not a massively multi-player online game if there aren't massive amounts of players in it. It would be an multi-player online game. I guess you can breathe a sigh of relief, bro.

@Thomas - Whew finally someone doesn't slam the idea. heh. But if it does take off I won't complain either, but I wanted to get the game play across as being the focus not massive amounts of players.
Thanks for the comments.
