Plan for Pat Wilson

by Pat Wilson · 09/02/2004 (9:53 pm) · 13 comments

The Xbox Marble Blast project is finally winding down. What an intense two months it's been. As you've probably already seen in the Dev Snapshot, the game looks great thanks to some great work by Brian Ramage. I finished off the UI's, all the Xbox Live programming, and some tweeks here and there yesterday and I actually have had time to do other things. It's now time to see what kind of features we can add. I'd like to get in soundtrack support at the very least, I'm going to explore doing some kind of "Last route" thing tomorow where it samples your position at set intervals and then draws a catmull-rom spline using those points to show you your last route through the level, maybe an option to save your best route to the HD or something. We'll have to see.

Edit: Argh! Ben's plan has shamed me with it's hyperlinkatude and pictures...I must find screenshots and make this .plan pretty and shiney!

You'll see here, that Ben is showing off the new, bump-mapped HTML renderer he has written for TSE. Note the per-pixel specular effects in the upper right corner.

"bump-mapped HTML renderer" - I know it's a joke and all but... why do I expect that that will end up on the bullet list of one o' the other engines now? ;-)

Congrats Pat, I know you busted ass on this project and deserve to seriously celebrate once she passes certification! Hopefully we will get to have that celebration at IGC this year.

Look forward to working with you on the next project...
