Plan for Josh Ritter

by Prairie Games · 07/20/2004 (9:34 am) · 14 comments

You're reading this right... it's a .plan, from me.

First I want to apologize to GarageGames and their members for my public outburst in the forums over this weekend. I have a nice big button on my forehead. My temper is not one of my better features. I feel like a real loser for nuking a few of my posts and publicly blowing up.

GarageGames is an excellent resource for independent game developers. All misunderstanding aside, it would be completely asinine of me to not utilize what they so freely give.

However, I do need to limit myself... I can't get too professionally or emotionally wrapped up in this site :) I have a very good plan for where Prairie Games and Minions of Mirth are headed. I sometimes get overly excited about how we are achieving our independence.

I have been pretty open about my success and failure... and I hope that one day I can provide more to this site than anything that has come before.

Alright, enough of this...

I did an interview over at RPGCodex this weekend... It might help shed some light on our game. You can read it here.

Good to see you're back. There's nothing wrong with passion and fire, that's what makes the indie movement so cool. It's easy to get emotionally wrapped up in discussion, but it happens... you haven't let it sway you from your destination, so it's all good.

Welcome home!

Heh - I missed the explosion and only caught the aftermath. I was hoping you'd be back. Glad to see you back!

Thanks... with every passing year I break out the Bozo outfit less and less... but it still happens.

Thanks, again...

Cool... RPGDot just picked up the RPGCodex interview... Having sites dedicated to your particular genre really seems to help :)

Also, I'd like to share this quote from a fan's blog:

Quote:"Finally, there will be a game like Everquest, but with single-player and LAN play. It will be open source and moddable, with a first-person view.
I've been waiting for a game like this for a very long time. It's called Minions of Mirth, by Prairie Games. It's only $25 to prepay, and it helps to
support the project when they can use funding the most."

You can't help but whistle while you work with this kind of stuff :)

Great work on Minions of Mirth. It sounds like a small scale version of a project I'm designing....

I think I missed an episode ^^
Sorry, I'm not really active in GG right now because I'm focused on making a dev website and reference documents for people who want to join the team of my MMORPG.

Anyway, I'm amazed by the interview, the large scale battle thing and the eight playable races really excite me. The work you achieved in gameplay seems enormous.

Glad to see there's still a spring in your step, Josh! :)
