Plan for Justin Mette

I thought I'd take a moment and share some good news. We've just received word that GravRally will be highlighted on The Pulse, a show on the G4 cable channel. Footage from the game will be aired starting this Friday, the 31st and run until next Friday.

This coverage of GravRally as well as last year's coverage of Orbz on G4 both were direct results from winning the Players Choice Awards at IGC. It's absolutely amazing to see how much traction IGC already has in the industry and it's only gonna get better.

Along these lines I've already done 4 interviews about GravRally/Orbz/21-6 (and even Myrmidon surprisingly), had my 15 minutes of fame on the Gamesome Mac radio show a couple Monday's ago, and even been contacted by an agency interested in representing GravRally to box/console publishers. We're probably not ready for something so grand but it's sure nice to generate that kind of heat!

Also, just before IGC a Google search on "GravRally" resulted in zero hits and in only a few short weeks, there are now 7 pages of hits.

My point? The power of IGC should not be under estimated...

Much thanks to GarageGames for opening all of these doors :)

Bastard - you guys get all the good press! ;-) Congratz :-)

I didn't win any awards with TZ, and I still have to agree with Justin about IGC - if you are an indie, you need to be there. The contacts alone are worth it. But just as important, if the product is liked, then there's a lot of opportunities that open up. I'm sure some of the stuff that's coming up with the next Beta could have happened anyway, but, just getting the name mentioned as a product premiering at IGC helped name recognition, and helped me identify sites that are interested in Indie games. A definite thanks to GG here too :-)

Oh, and never underestimate the power of Justin either - he doesn't know why yet, but I think I'm gonna owe him a nice steak dinner the next time I travel through Denver ;-)

Damn it's good to see so many indie groups seeing success!

Funny, "Bastard" was exactly my reaction :)

I think I am going to play "let's follow Justin around."

Should be a fun game :)

Congrats Justin - winning and following up with press opportunities are great first steps for GravRally.

Watching the show is just one way to share in the 21-6 teams growing indie success. I say we light up the boards and let the G4 game fans know more about what's going on in Indie Game Development. The opportunity to spread the word on the G4 forums shouldn't be missed.

Justin I was wondering if you were mistaken or were told the wrong airdate for the G4 coverage. I watched the episode last night and it was not on. I checked the guide from my cable box until Tues. and it seems that the same episode will be airing all week. Please update if you find out the correct airdate.

I watched The Pulse this morning at 7AM and it looks to be last weeks episode still. The schedule on their web site shows the new episode airing later tonight.

I think I'd loop it on every TV in my house if it were me! =)

P.S. >> Why isn't this a news item? This is HUGE! (IMO)
