Plan for Jay Moore

by Jay Moore · 10/19/2003 (6:46 pm) · 5 comments

I knew when Jeff T. took the mic at Indie Jam, Friday night, the weekend was going to rock. We came, we played, we discussed the way the world should be and how we're going to change it and at least for me we had a great time. We talked tech, talked biz (pr to legal) and even helped put a few deals together, but mostly we connected and enjoyed seeing the movement advance.

Thank you to everyone who came and contributed, nVIDIA, MaxGaming, 21-6, BraveTree, Midnight Ryder, the Wild Duck, Shannon Overman, the GG interns and everyone who pitched in and helped. If you took notes and are willing to contribute them please forward them to me jaym@garagegames.com

Unless everyone withheld their true feedback our biggest priority is to not mess up what we have going. Next year we hope to see more people and still keep it real and fun.

Moving ON

  • Machinima Film Festival 2003 Oct. 25th. in NYC
  • Any GGer's who are in the greater NYC area I'd love to hook up - especially if you know anything about the Machinima movement (email me even if you can't come if you have interest in using TGE in this area). I have some time Friday night and Sunday night to connect - so if you know any game developers in the area let them know I'd coordinating a get together.

  • Ambassadors Program - If you are willing to be a promoter of GarageGames, Torque and don't mind the occasional speaking gig, contact me. We're looking at ways to ignite the word of mouth on campuses, at IGDA meetings and by connecting locally with other community members - letting people know about Torque and our games.

  • [li]News Stories, New Games, Contests and Promotions... oh my, stay tuned.

Machinima sounds really cool! Not sure if I can help out at this time however. Everything around here is sounding so good though. Every .Plan just brings more good news. Bravo!

I'll post a complete report soon, but this is a great group of innovative film makers that have huge energy for independent games and building a collaborative connection with GG.
