Legends beta was released 2 weeks ago at the UVALAN Tribes lan party. It might have been a little early because of the amount of bugs that slipped passed our testing, but we've worked around the clock since then to get the next version out. The best part is that the game actually plays as intended now! Imagine that!
Friday, August 15th (tomorrow), our new patching service will be available along with the new version which fixes a ton of bugs. Our patcher makes use of rsync, so all ascii and binary data can be patched at the same time with a delta-only system, so you don't have to re-download every file that has changed.
For those that don't know what Legends is, it is a game inspired by Starseige: Tribes, most of the development team's favorite game. Gameplay mostly consists of CTF, and Capture and Hold is in the works. Players have different armor choices (light, medium [not done yet], and heavy), each having jetpacks. It is also possible to "ski" on terrain, gathering speed on downhills, making it possible for fast transit without vehicles. This also leads to fast cap routes and strategies to defends against them. Legends also features deployable turrets, inventory stations, power generators, a vast array of weaponry and upgrade modules, and much more.
I must warn you that the learning curve is a bit steep, but I promise you, come back and try it a few times and you'll get hooked. The full 3-dimensional movement due to jetpacks and skiing, and the intensity of combat will make you hunger for more.
So, check it out - you won't be disappointed.
