Plan for Nicolas Quijano

At last, my first plan...
I've finally made a decision regarding the game I was regarding as my main project, the Truth. It's one of the hard choices alluded to in the synopsis, mainly that I've had to shelve it for the time being.
Why, I hear you ask ? Well, simply because it was eating too much of my time and energy without going anywhere, not fast, but at a reasonable pace. And that was preventing me from working and developing other game ideas and concepts : you start developing something, and it brings you back to the first game, and you start thinking about how to incorporate those changes in it instead of working on the game that made you come up with the concept in the first place, if you can see what I mean. It doesn't help that I've been working on it for more than 5 years now, and have gone through multiple design changes, etc. And if you look at the new project entry for it, you'll see that it's listed as being in the design stages.
Yes, you read right : I really do not want to scrap it completely, so I've decided to start it nearly all over again in the coming months, leasurely.
This said, I'm not touching it for a while, except maybe for some "story" writing, as when that particular Muse visits, you should always seize the opportunity : I do my best writing under impulse, and with quite a lot of improv. Quite like my music playing, for that matter... 8p
It's one of the reasons I couldn't kill outright the idea of making a video game based on SLA Industries' universe, the World of Progress, as I love the setting, its depth, and the dark, cynical reflection it presents of our world.
So, since the Truth is asleep for a while, I'll have to start a new project, from scratch (or nearly so, depending on if I use some of the game ideas in my brainvault ;)).
It will definitely be something smaller, so that it can be done by a very small team, in a six months timeframe.
I need to have a shipped game under my belt in the near future so I can feel good about the sacrifices I made and make to pursue my dream.
More on where my thoughts take me as things materialize out of grey matter :)
By freeing myself thus, I can also spend more energies on coding with TGE, and getting to know it a lot better.
Which brings me to the next point : if I haven't put you to sleep with this cascade of words, you might be interested in learning that I've offered my writing abilities to the GG newsletter and the Docs teams, as a writer, but also for editing tasks, like proofreading, etc. More on this as it evolves.
Looks like a busy summer in the making...
Well, I guess I've bored you enough for today,
thanks for reading so far !! ;)
