Plan for Nauris Krauze

Some work has been done on Realm Wars ornamental set. Mostly sketching, researching (Owen Jones rules:) and figuring out the best techniques to work with. Now I'd like some little feedback please.
Basic samples can be viewed here.
What I'd like to know is:
Would it be wise to include also pure linework and leave color filling for artists themselves? or there's no need for that?
What is the best size in pixels for each basic element/vignette etc. ? (After struggling with vector programms, I decided to go for raster anyway)
Maybe you would prefer layered images with line work and color fills separated? If so, what are the prefered file formats?
Thanks to decoy for valuable input already. I have started work on orcish set already (they're crude and more easy:) but I'd like to hear some more opinions before getting done some things and then realising that I've missed something.
Thanks in advance.

About the grid, I made the differences on purpose, and enforced it with slightly different tones for each square. It looked less monotonous this way, I hope. But decoy advised focusing more on lines anyway and leave color filling for texturers, which is right, I think, as it makes templates much more flexible.

Hehe, when you`re speaking about hungry you really SOUND hungry, Luc :D No, we dont have Hardees in Latvia, but besides standard McDonalds we have our own franchise which has muscled out most of the incoming ones - Lido. For a price of one Mcdonalds "meal" you can national-themed MEAL with pork, potatos, sausages, pancakes, whatever you choose. When you stand up, watch out, because your trajectory will change...heavily :)About the grid, I made the differences on purpose, and enforced it with slightly different tones for each square. At any Hardees across the country, you can now order 1/3 LB, 1/2 LB, or 2/3 LB Angus Beef Thickburgers. You can't get Curly Fries any more, but now you can get *chili fries*, which are french fries in a box, with CHILI on top of them. The whole meal has probably got around 1000 calories or some crazy shit like that, but it is SO GODDAMNED GOOD. I'm a tall skinny bottomless pit, so it doesn't affect me. Yet.
I am so hungry right now. Just an hour to go until lunch. Aaaaargh!
Oh, heh, and I like the colors for those patterns. Question: it seems like on some of the gridded patterns as if the grid was not evenly spaced. Is that just my eyes, is it done on purpose, or is it an inherent spacing problem given the texture resolution?
Good luck, and eat some food.
