Plan for Brad Schick

I'm psyched to be running the first sponsored Robot Battle contest. Its great to have actual prizes to give out (in case you missed it: Microsoft Visual C++ 2003, a GarageGames Torque engine license, free games, and other GarageGames apparel like hats and a denim shirt). If you are interested in making games but don't have cash to burn or if you want another torque license for your small company, this is a zero risk way to try saving $100.
I'd like to run sponsored contests often, but I can only do that if this one generates enough interest. If anyone has ideas to help get the word out, I'd love to hear them. I may advertise on a few smaller technical websites for starters. Feel free to post ideas here or contact me directly at schick@robotbattle.com
It is easy to learn the game's scripting language and crank out a robot (particularly for a technical crowd like those here at GG). Since you can remain anonymous, no one has to know if you won or lost and no one gets to see your code.
One benefit of a possibly small turnout is a better chance of winning prizes... so please don't hesitate to enter :)

In fact, people sometimes ask me "why isn't the title Robot Battles" (plural). Well the reason is that RobotWar was singular :)

That's a very familiar screen shot in your link. I'm looking forward to trying out your game and entering a robot in the contest.

I will get around to purchasing this thing as soon as things have settled-down on the development of our game.
I was thinking of buying a couple so that our dev-team at work can compete. :)

Melv I'm still waiting for your IGC robot :) That would be great if your dev team got copies. I'm hoping that in the UK a "couple" means 200-300 people...

LOL, Phil. Too bad we won't have everyone in the same room this time shouting out your bot's name. Melv I'm still waiting for your IGC robot :) That would be great if your dev team got copies. I'm hoping that in the UK a "couple" means 200-300 people...
