Plan for Roelf Diedericks

by Roelf "TheRoDent" Diedericks · 04/22/2003 (7:25 am) · 4 comments

I've settled into the Legends source structure now, and am busy doing minor fixes on GUI controls, and have implemented Paul Dana's code he generously share, which allows us to set the animation speed, and position of ShapeBase'd objects.

Been trying to get the linux version to compile cleanly, but there are a lot of dependencies to take care of.

-- Update --

Have implemented a neat new build structure for Legends. Basically you can CVS checkout the legends tree now, and simply build it. No need to worry about nonsense such as SDL, ogg/vorbis and smpeg. Currently busy trying to sort out the guiAVI control, and implementing various fixes. As soon as that is sorted, I'll carry on with implementing jetNozzle's ala T2 style, so we can get some particle emitters at the backs of those sexeh Legends player models.

Next order of business will be to dig into some more particle emitter scripting, and help out some of the more creative (read artistic) fellows on the team.

Admin mod framework is coming along nicely. Currently busy compiling 'must have' list of features from other admin mods. Having been a server admin for well over 2 years, I pretty much know what's required...

Hey, a fellow Linux T2 owner! So, just out of curiosity, why no more Tribes 2?

@ Yacine: Well, I've tired of the rampant cheating in the game. And I wanted some more control over the actual engine, so that I can work on the more MMO aspects of gaming. I started my pet project within T2, and I intend to continue it within Legends.

Of course, the first target is to get the base legends released.
