Plan for Jeremy Noetzelman

Well, between my newborn being sick, having surgery, and getting sick again, plus work and the normal things that come with having a new baby in the house, I didn't have time to post my weekly .plan update last Friday, so in the vein of 'better late than never'...
Steamwerks
More progress here ... we've brought a new mapper on board, Jeff Hitchcock, who has really hit the ground running. He took an overall sketch for a demo level for development purposes from Scott and has been putting it ingame. It's starting to take shape nicely, and we're pretty happy about that.
We're still looking for some more artist type help on the 2d front, preferably someone who loves steampunk.
Python Build System
Some more progress here too...Did some more refactoring based on input from some folks who've used it. It's now very very generic, and can be used easily for any type of project.
It is now building on Windows and Linux, with VS and gcc. I need to get mingw support in there, and it would be nice to be able to get some mac support in as well, but that's for later down the road.
I hope to soon be able to add in the makefile/project file generation stuff from my last prototype ... time time, where are you?

Well, our web guy got really busy and didn't have time to do the artwork, so I bit the bullet and dusted off my programmer art skills. I've been spending most of my time here, and put together some art that isn't too bad for a programmer, and am building a basic web application to drive all of this the way I want it done.
Few more days of coding and content porting and it'll be ready to go ;)

Those of us who have been working on arranging things for this month's meeting are pretty happy that things are falling in to place. The only real downer is that we haven't heard for sure whether Valve is going to show up. We'll see. In any case, I've managed to get Joe from Bravetree to come up as well, and he'll hopefully be doing a demo of Think Tanks during the 'Pizza and Beer' time.
The location has changed, though. It's still on the Microsoft campus, but no longer in building 9, but in building 40. Directions will be posted on the door of building 9 just in case. And, I'll post them here too :)
From Seattle:
1) Take 520 East heading towards Redmond.
2) Take the 40th Street Exit.
3) Turn right at the light at the end of the off ramp on to 40th.
4) Immediately get into the right lane then turn right onto 156th.
5) Turn right onto NE 31st.
6) Building 40 is on the left side of NE 31st. Turn left into the parking area.
7) Park.
8) Find the main entrance to 40 where a security guard will let you in.
I'd like to get a rough idea of how many folks from this community are going to go, and would be interested in getting together afterwards. Jay has indicated that they'd like to meet as many of you as possible, so a post-sputnik outing of some sort seems likely...
