Plan for Rhonda Smith

You start off slow, and gradually build up momentum....throughout the rest of the ride you have highs and lows, times when you speed up, and times that you loose that speed...but until you get to the very end, you never stop moving. That's how this project has been so far...ups and downs, growing spurts....fun! :)
I've been working on ensuring that the world is detailed, interesting and fun. A friend of mine hooked me up with a really neat little program for helping name things (if anyone is interested drop me a line and I'll send it to you). It's called 'The Everchanging Book of Names' (ebon.exe) and basically it will help make sure that all the names of places, people and things sound like they have the same origins....it helps create the mood and keep things consistant. I'm not using the names directly out of the application, but I am using the names it 'randomly' generates, for inspiration when I'm stuck for the name of a lake or river, and it makes writing go alot faster when you don't have to sit there and rack your brain for something that sounds right, rather you can just push a button and something will appear to kickstart your creative juices again :)
I don't know if I mentioned it in my last plan, but Rick has provided some awesome concept sketches for a few of our more alien creatures and items, I can't wait to see the models Ted makes out of them - it's going to be sweet.
The whole project keeps moving forward, I'm still not done our website, but the blanks are slowly filling in...and more and more people keep joining the mailing list, wanting to keep up with developments in the game and be the first to know when it's done. That's exciting to me, that people are going to want to play a game that was born in my imagination....
The June deadline keeps moving closer, and I worry sometimes about the lack of programming going on, but I really believe that once Andrew and Merlin get everything sorted out inside their own minds, they will power program this and it will be ready for June. I have faith in them, and the project itself...it's like a rollercoaster...it never stops, but it may slow down every now and then.
I just need to find a corner to build up speed on :)
