Plan for Frank Bignone

It's quite a long time since my last april's fool .plan post, I did not post something about Dog of Prey.

Status
The whole team is going into a new phase of development as we want to release our first public beta for June. We are working quite hard on DoP and it's difficult, at the same time, to communicate and to work. However, a new member is going to revamp completly our website by using modern techniques (php, sql) which will easier the maintenance of our website.

Beta release
As i said before, we are aiming a public beta release in June. It will be a beta and we will look for beta-testers to help us for the testing and reporting of what is good and what is bad.

We have choosen the features that will be presented in the beta :
- 4 playable planes (2 fighters & 2 recos)
- 2 multiplay maps (CTF & racing)
- 1 single play map (training)
- 7 weapons
- 4 power-ups
- + good materials (sfx,music,pics..)

As an example, you can hear here the music theme of the race map (www.straiusmusic.com/music/dop/CanyonTheme.mp3) done and copyrighted by Raison 'Straius' Varner. One funny feature for that map, is that it tooks around 7-10 mn (depending on your plane) to complete a single lap !

and here you have some conceptual sketches of the CTF map & race map done by Pascal 'Decoy' Boss & Brad Collins.

Straius & Brad are new members of our team. Decoy is a smart guy who helps us for some sketches & modeling.

Looking for...
The main work now is to have all the models/item/picture/skins for the map. Then, we are actively looking for a good worldcraft/quark mapper (see www.garagegames.com/index.php?sec=mg&mod=project&page=view.job&qid=1221) to help us on that point.

That tune is perfect for the racing map! I am looking forward to the Beta - can I sign up now :) Going from technical demos and prototypes to a game you plan to release publicly is a big and exciting step. Keep crankin guys, its gonna be worth it.

I miss music like this in games. Retro yet high quality. I'd love to put your beta through its paces.

The level of professionalism in your project so far is exceptional and inspiring. There is no stopping you now... (Do I sound like Tony Robbins or what? lol :)

Keep me in mind, Franky!

Hey thanks everyone about your comments on the music. I have to say... I was hard pressed to come up with an "old-west" style song for a cartoon game! But so far these guys have been amazing and I'm excited to actually FINISH a project like I know they will. No more mods for me! lol

Time get all up and in this shiznit! ;)

That is very fun music. I especially like it around the 53 second mark at the first big change. Good contrast. Overall, a nice loose, fun feel that should indeed fit the game. Good job!
